Youth of Tay Phong commune (Cao Phong) built a model of "Turning tires into signs" on roads near schools, markets and along inter-commune roads to reduce traffic accidents.
Comrade Nguyen Thanh Luan, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, said: The Provincial Youth Union Executive Committee has directed all levels of the Youth Union in the province to improve the quality and effectiveness of volunteer activities in order to enhance the coordination, connection, leadership and orientation role of the Youth Union and Association for volunteer activities in the locality. These include typical campaigns such as: Winter Volunteer, Spring Volunteer, Tree Planting Festival Launching Ceremony "Forever Grateful to Uncle Ho", Youth Month, Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign, Peak Day of Volunteering to Join Hands in Building New Rural Areas at the Provincial Level, Festival "Healthy Children - Stepping Up to the Youth Union"...
In addition to volunteer campaigns, the Youth Union at all levels continues to maintain and promote volunteer activities for community life and social security, focusing on gratitude activities, visiting, giving gifts, voluntary blood donation, medical examination and treatment, free medicine distribution, house repair... for families with meritorious services, people with revolutionary contributions, activities to care for children and students in difficult circumstances, focusing on remote, isolated and disadvantaged areas of the province. Since the beginning of the year, the whole province has repaired and built 15 new playgrounds for children, worth 250 million VND, and given 10,200 gifts to poor students, families with difficult circumstances, and families with meritorious services; organized screening, health consultation and free medicine distribution for 2,500 people, provided adolescent reproductive health consultation for 320 students, organized Red Sunday and voluntary blood donation with the participation of more than 2,000 volunteers, collected 1,737 units of blood...
In particular, last May, the Youth Unions of districts and cities simultaneously organized the Young Doctors' Festival following Uncle Ho's teachings, volunteering for community health. The festival had more than 100 young doctors from Young Doctors' Clubs across the province present in particularly difficult communes to carry out youth projects and tasks. Medical examination and free medicine were provided to 3,000 people. In addition, in Lac Thuy district, the Provincial Youth Union and the Provincial Youth Union organized the "Young Workers' Festival" and "Young Doctors' Journey following Uncle Ho's teachings" in 2023. At the program, accompanying units and businesses in the province presented 20 gifts to young workers and 10 bicycles to children of workers in difficult circumstances; organized medical examinations and provided free medicine to 200 young workers and people in Lac Thuy district.
Activities to participate in building new rural areas and civilized urban areas continue to be effectively implemented by the Youth Union at all levels. District and city Youth Unions also actively carry out youth projects and tasks, build models of agricultural science and technology transfer, contributing significantly to building new rural areas and civilized urban areas at the grassroots level; mobilize young people to be exemplary in practicing thrift and civility in weddings and funerals; register to undertake and implement "Bright - green - clean - beautiful - civilized - safe" routes; propagate the building of civilized lifestyles, living habits, and cultural behavior among young union members and people.
Volunteer activities to protect the environment and respond to climate change have also been deployed by the Youth Union at all levels in many forms such as: Communicating environmental protection, responding to climate change associated with environmental events; implementing youth projects to protect the environment, respond to climate change; simultaneously launching "Green Sunday" in 10/10 districts and cities, attracting a large number of young people to participate in cleaning, collecting and treating waste, planting trees on the streets, and mobilizing people to dispose of garbage in the right place. In the first "Green Sunday" in 2023, nearly 1,000 young people participated in planting and caring for more than 13,000 trees; supporting the construction of 7 tree nurseries, collecting nearly 10 tons of waste; building and renovating 53 cultural house campuses, children's playgrounds, and removing illegal advertising signs; Maintain the organization of volunteer activities to participate in ensuring traffic safety, coordinate the organization of programs to equip young people with safe driving skills; build models of traffic safety school gates, safe ferry terminals, youth volunteer teams, and youth shock troops to participate in ensuring traffic safety...
