This is an annual event to express the gratitude of the youth to millions of outstanding children of the nation and generations of young people who have dedicated their youth to their homeland and country.

On the evening of July 26, the Da Nang City Youth Union coordinated with the city's Veterans Association to organize a candle lighting ceremony to commemorate the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day at the city's Martyrs Cemetery (Hoa Khuong commune, Hoa Vang district).

Within the framework of the program, leaders and members of the Youth Union offered flowers and incense at the Memorial and martyrs' graves; and presented 10 gifts to veterans, people with meritorious services to the revolution and their relatives.

On this occasion, the Da Nang City Youth Union has implemented many meaningful activities, such as: organizing a series of "We are always with you, mother" models with 74 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers in the area; visiting, caring for, and encouraging the spirit of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and presenting gifts; organizing cleaning and repainting of the graves of heroic martyrs and simultaneously organizing candle lighting ceremonies at all martyr cemeteries in the area.

Also on the evening of July 26, at the city's Martyrs' Cemetery, Can Tho City Youth Union coordinated with the city's Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to organize a candle lighting ceremony to pay tribute to heroic martyrs. With the spirit of "Each candle - a heart - Each union member and youth has an activity to repay gratitude", delegates and union members and youth lit more than 5,200 candles at the martyrs' graves.

Through the program, the Organizing Committee mobilized 40 scholarships with a total value of 60 million VND to award to students who are children of families with preferential policies and have difficult circumstances to overcome difficulties in studying. The ceremony also held a minute of silence to commemorate General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong - an outstanding leader of the Party and State, who has made great contributions to the development of the country.

On this occasion, the Standing Committee of the Can Tho City Youth Union called on the city's youth to actively participate in and respond to the activities of "Repaying gratitude" and "Drinking water, remembering its source" in the locality. From July 20 to 27, the Youth Union at all levels organized many delegations to visit and present 650 gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, families with meritorious services to the revolution; awarded 1,312 scholarships to students with difficult circumstances who overcame difficulties to study well; presented gifts and provided free medicine to 3,527 families with meritorious services with a total value of over 3.5 billion VND. In addition, the city's Youth Union at all levels also organized 86 traditional exchanges, met with historical witnesses and deployed 83 marches to the source.

At the Hill 82 Martyrs' Cemetery (Tan Bien District, Tay Ninh Province), the People's Committee of Tay Ninh Province, in coordination with the Youth Union of the People's Public Security (Ministry of Public Security), solemnly held an incense offering ceremony for heroic martyrs and lit candles to express gratitude to the more than 14,000 martyrs resting here.

Delegates also respectfully bowed and observed a minute of silence in memory of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

Over 1,500 young people, delegates and people of Tay Ninh province participated in lighting the martyrs’ graves with incense sticks and candles. This is a meaningful activity, expressing deep gratitude and appreciation, and at the same time, it is an opportunity to educate about tradition, creating motivation for the younger generation to continue to contribute their strength and intelligence to build the country.

At the ceremony, the Central Executive Committee of the Youth Union presented a symbolic board of financial support of 1.2 billion VND; the Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development, Tay Ninh Branch presented a symbolic board of financial support of 442 million VND to the Tay Ninh Provincial Youth Union to carry out youth projects and social security activities in the area. The Organizing Committee also presented 10 gifts to policy families and former youth volunteers in Tay Ninh province.

On the evening of July 26, at the Martyrs' Cemetery in Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Provincial Youth Union coordinated with relevant departments and agencies to organize a candle lighting ceremony to pay tribute to heroic martyrs, with the participation of 700 union members, youth and teenagers. At the same time, at 115 martyrs' cemeteries and memorials across the province, the Youth Union at all levels and Binh Dinh youth lit candles and incense sticks to commemorate the nation's outstanding sons who had fallen.

On this occasion, the Organizing Committee restored and presented portraits of martyrs and Vietnamese Heroic Mothers of all periods to 6 families of martyrs; and presented 20 gifts to Veterans and Former Youth Volunteers.

Also on the evening of July 26, at the Martyrs' Temple of Cam Giang district, Hai Duong Provincial Youth Union coordinated with the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs and the district to organize a candle lighting ceremony to pay tribute to heroic martyrs.

During the resistance wars, 2,503 outstanding sons and brave soldiers of Cam Giang homeland fell. Among them, many martyrs remained on the battlefield forever, thousands of people left behind a part of their body, and many people returned home with dozens of wounds and illnesses for the rest of their lives. The whole Hai Duong province currently has 38,941 martyrs who heroically sacrificed for national independence. At the Cam Giang district martyrs' temple - where the memorial stele of 2,503 outstanding sons of the district is engraved, the delegates lit incense and placed flowers to remember and pay tribute to those who fell for the independence and freedom of the nation.

At the same time, delegates and people offered incense and released flower lanterns at the Martyrs' Temple to pay tribute to the heroic martyrs of Hai Duong province and Cam Giang district.

At the provincial Martyrs Cemetery, on the evening of July 26, Long An Provincial Youth Union held a candle lighting ceremony to pay tribute to heroic martyrs, with the participation of 400 delegates including leaders of the province, departments, branches, localities and union members and youth.

In the solemn atmosphere of commemorating the heroic martyrs who died for the independence and freedom of the nation, along with the infinite sorrow for the passing of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, Long An youth respectfully offered a wreath to the monument of the Fatherland and the heroic martyrs. Nearly 4,000 martyrs' graves were also warmed and lit with incense sticks and candles to respectfully commemorate the merits of the heroes, the excellent sons of the homeland who did not hesitate to shed their blood and sacrifice to gain independence and freedom for the nation.

At the same time, from July 23 to present, the Youth Union at all levels has simultaneously organized candle lighting ceremonies to pay tribute to heroic martyrs at 10 martyr cemeteries and 198 works honoring martyrs, with the participation of more than 15,000 union members and young people.

Responding to the peak week of "Drinking water, remember its source", "Repaying gratitude", more than 30,000 union members and young people of the province actively participated in implementing youth projects and tasks, typically: Youth project "thousands of flowers offered to martyrs' graves" replacing more than 25,000 lotus flowers at 10 martyrs' cemeteries in the area; implementing the Youth project "taking care of martyrs' memorial works" cleaning, planting trees, planting flowers to create landscapes at 10 martyrs' cemeteries, 198 martyrs' memorial works. The Youth Union at all levels has carried out more than 150 "Filial children" activities to take care of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, former Union officials, former youth volunteers, policy families with difficult circumstances, and single parents in the whole province...

At the Provincial Martyrs' Cemetery, the Provincial Youth Union and the Vietnam Youth Union of Ben Tre province held a candlelighting ceremony to commemorate the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day.

At the program, delegates and more than 1,500 cadres and union members from agencies, enterprises, armed forces, schools and youth in Ben Tre city offered incense, flowers, lit candles and released flower lanterns to commemorate the heroic martyrs - those who fell for the revolutionary cause, for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland; commemorate and pay tribute to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong - who devoted his whole life to the cause of national development. At the same time, 100% of communes, wards and towns in Ben Tre simultaneously organized candle lighting ceremonies at cemeteries, memorials, works honoring martyrs and martyrs' graves in the area.

After two wars of resistance for national independence and the war to protect the southwestern border to help Cambodia escape genocide, Ben Tre had 35,648 martyrs; 6,927 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, 18,731 wounded soldiers, 1,606 sick soldiers and nearly 6,000 martyrs whose remains have not been found.

At the provincial martyrs' cemetery, Dak Lak Provincial Youth Union organized the "Lighting candles in gratitude" program, with the participation of nearly 1,500 union members and youth of Buon Ma Thuot City Youth Union and affiliated unions, representing more than 350,000 union members and youth of various ethnic groups.

In a solemn and respectful atmosphere, union members and youth respectfully bowed their heads in memory of President Ho Chi Minh, heroic martyrs and mourned and bid farewell to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

At the same time, youth union members in the province lit candles and incense sticks to pay tribute to heroic martyrs at 14 martyr cemeteries and 3 memorials in the area.

From July 20-27, the youth of all ethnic groups in Dak Lak province organized the peak activity week of "Repaying gratitude" and "Drinking water, remembering its source". The local youth organized 54 activities of "Repaying gratitude"; 43 activities of cleaning up the memorial stele and martyrs' cemetery; presented 143 gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and families with revolutionary contributions; organized 8 cooking sessions and activities to support families with preferential policies...

In Bac Kan, on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2024), the 76th anniversary of the historic Phu Thong Fort victory (July 27, 1948 - July 27, 2024); Bac Kan Provincial Youth Union solemnly held an incense offering and candle lighting ceremony to pay tribute to heroic martyrs at Phu Thong Martyrs Cemetery (Bach Thong).

More than 250 youth union members - representing the youth of Bac Kan province - participated in lighting candles.

At the ceremony, leaders and youth union members of the units observed a minute of silence and offered incense in a solemn and emotional atmosphere; remembering and expressing respect for those who sacrificed for national independence.

The delegates took turns lighting incense sticks and candles on the graves of heroes and martyrs. These activities demonstrate the morality of “When drinking water, remember its source” of the youth of the whole province with their fathers and brothers who sacrificed their lives in the resistance wars to protect the Fatherland.

At the candle lighting ceremony to honor heroic martyrs, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Bac Kan province presented 20 gifts to 20 families of policy beneficiaries, relatives of martyrs, and people with meritorious services to the revolution.
