On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Que Son district, Quang Nam province (March 26, 1975 - March 26, 2025), in order to strengthen the special, loyal relationship between Tho Xuan district, Thanh Hoa province and Que Son district, Quang Nam province, on the morning of March 26, a working delegation of Tho Xuan district led by comrade Thai Xuan Cuong, Standing Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, visited and worked with Que Son district, Quang Nam province.
Implementing the policy of the Party Central Committee directing the Northern provinces and cities to establish twinning with the Southern provinces and cities to create a combined strength to encourage, support and help each other to successfully carry out the two strategic tasks, on November 20, 1968, in My Ly Ha village, Bac Luong commune, the evacuation site of Tho Xuan District Party Committee, the twinning ceremony between Tho Xuan district - Thanh Hoa and Que Son district - Quang Nam took place.
Over the past 57 years, the two districts have always maintained a close relationship, loyal and devoted, united, and supported each other in the struggle for national liberation as well as in building the homeland. Over the years, on holidays, commemorating the victory and liberation of the homeland and the country, receiving noble titles from the Party and the State, the leaders of the two districts have often visited and paid tribute to those who shed blood and sacrificed for the independence of the country, for the freedom of today's generations.
Speaking at the meeting, comrade Dinh Nguyen Vu, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Que Son district, informed about the merger between Que Son district and Nong Son district in the past time. Briefly informed about some achievements in the socio-economic development of the locality. Affirmed the loyal and steadfast affection between Que Son district, Quang Nam province and Tho Xuan district, Thanh Hoa province in previous years as well as in the current period. This will be an important premise for the districts to continue to support each other in the coming time.
Speaking at the meeting, comrade Thai Xuan Cuong, Standing Deputy Secretary of Tho Xuan District Party Committee, congratulated the outstanding and comprehensive results that Que Son district has strived to achieve in the past time. Informing about some of the results achieved in various fields, comrade Thai Xuan Cuong, Standing Deputy Secretary of Tho Xuan District Party Committee, said: Immediately after the 27th District Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025, the district has implemented specific key programs and focused on leadership and direction from the beginning of the term and achieved many outstanding achievements. In particular, the President awarded the Second Class Independence Medal to the Party Committee, government and people of Tho Xuan district; The Prime Minister recognized Tho Xuan district as meeting the standards of an advanced NTM district in 2023, the first district in Thanh Hoa province in particular and the North Central region in general to meet the criteria of an advanced NTM district. The Standing Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee hopes that, with the close and close relationship nurtured through many generations, in the coming time, the two districts will regularly organize meetings, exchanges, and learn from experiences in various fields for mutual development.
Also at the meeting, former Standing Committee members of the two districts discussed and clarified the close relationship between the two districts and proposed a number of solutions to continue to maintain, sustain and bring the twinned relationship of the two districts to new heights.
On this occasion, Tho Xuan district also presented Que Son district, Quang Nam province with 100 million VND to support house building for policy beneficiaries and poor households. Gifts were given to 10 policy beneficiaries and meritorious people in Que Son district, Quang Nam province.
On this occasion, the delegation offered incense and flowers at the Memorial Temple of the heroic martyrs of Que Son district; Cam Doi Victory Monument, Que Son district. During the two resistance wars against foreign invaders to save the country, in Que Son district, there were nearly 8,000 martyrs who were children of the district, more than 1,000 martyrs who were children of other districts and over 5,300 martyrs whose names are unknown. Que Son district has 1,036 mothers who were awarded and posthumously awarded the title of Heroic Vietnamese Mother. In front of the heroic martyrs, the Party Committee, government and people of Tho Xuan district, Thanh Hoa province and Que Son district, Quang Nam province vow to continue to foster the close-knit, loyal relationship between the two districts that many generations have worked hard to cultivate; continue to care, help and support each other for mutual development.
