Open up opportunities for strategic cooperation

The Long An - Japan Trade and Investment Promotion Program 2025 has opened up strategic cooperation opportunities between Long An and Japanese partners, with the signing of 3 important cooperation agreements. Following the success of Vina Ecoboard's 110 million USD project in Phu An Thanh Industrial Park, Japan's leading forestry group Sumitomo signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate in investing in acacia raw material area in the province. In order to provide biomass materials that promise to promote sustainable development in the wood processing and renewable energy industries.

Prodezi Industrial Park - The largest ecological industrial park in the Mekong Delta with a scale of 400 hectares is gradually realizing a sustainable development model through cooperation with Chitose Group, implementing advanced biotechnology solutions in wastewater treatment, organic fertilizer production, and planting trees using organic hydroponics systems at Prodezi Industrial Park; not only helping Prodezi build a green industrial ecosystem, but also creating conditions for businesses in the industrial park to access advanced technology solutions, optimize production, and move towards environmentally friendly development.

Not only stopping at the industrial sector, Long An has also achieved new steps in cooperation in training high-quality human resources, developing tourism combined with high-tech agriculture, transferring biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and healthcare, through the letter of intent of the Vietnam - Japan Economic Cooperation Promotion Association given to the Long An Provincial People's Committee to propose investment promotion, connecting and calling for projects. These fields are not only suitable for the development orientation of the province but also make the most of Japan's strengths, promising to bring breakthrough projects in the near future.

At the investment connection session, a large corporation in Japan was particularly interested in the waste-to-energy plant project in Thu Thua district. With leading experience in the field of waste treatment and renewable energy production, this corporation expressed its desire to participate in this project. It is expected that in April 2025, the Japanese investor will send a team of experts to Long An to survey and discuss the investment plan in detail. This is an important step in solving environmental problems, while taking advantage of Japanese technology to turn waste into a valuable source of energy.
