Investing in facilities, improving the quality of career counseling

Over the years, Binh Phuoc College has always played a key role in receiving, training and orienting students after being classified. The school has proactively coordinated with high schools to organize career counseling activities, seminars, practical experiences and provide information on vocational training programs. Along with that, the school organizes trial classes, welcomes students to visit practice workshops and connects with businesses to increase their opportunities to access practical knowledge.

From 2018-2024, the school has enrolled 3,067 students in vocational education, including 899 college students and 2,168 secondary school students. The graduation rate of students is 94%, many professions have a 100% post-graduation employment rate. Training programs are increasingly linked with businesses, meeting market needs, especially in the fields of technology, engineering, mechanics, services, etc.

However, the work of streamlining still faces many obstacles. Some parents and students still want their children to go to university, and are concerned about the quality of vocational training as well as job opportunities after graduation. In addition, some high schools are still not qualified to organize in-depth career guidance, and lack connections with vocational training institutions, leading to limited propaganda effectiveness.

Faced with this situation, the school has proposed many solutions such as: Increasing communication on press and social media platforms; organizing career orientation conferences for 8th and 9th graders and parents; connecting more strongly with businesses. At the same time, the school focuses on training a team of consultants, improving the professional qualifications and pedagogical skills of lecturers, investing in modern facilities for teaching and practicing.

Recognizing the school’s efforts, the monitoring team suggested continuing to promote communication to change parents’ and students’ perceptions of vocational training. At the same time, the school needs to strengthen the connection between general education and vocational education institutions, replicate the training model associated with businesses and close to actual needs. The team also noted the investment in facilities, improving the quality of the career counseling team, ensuring long-term effectiveness in the work of streaming.
