Recorded at many inspection centers nationwide on the first working day after the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday, the number of vehicles requiring inspection decreased sharply compared to before Tet.

On February 3 (the 6th day of Tet), vehicle inspection centers nationwide reopened to serve the needs of motor vehicle inspection of people and businesses after a 9-day holiday.

On February 3, vehicle inspection centers nationwide returned to work after the 9-day Lunar New Year holiday.

I thought the number of cars coming for inspection on the first day of the new year would be high, but from early morning - the time when cars are usually the busiest in the day, the number of cars coming for inspection was surprisingly sparse and deserted.

At the 2903V Vehicle Inspection Center, early in the morning of February 3, there were only about 10 vehicles waiting for inspection. Most of them had expired inspections during Tet, so to be eligible to participate in traffic on the first day of spring, vehicle owners had to bring their vehicles for inspection early.

After this batch of vehicles, the remaining vehicles arrived sparsely. At around 3:50 p.m., there were no more vehicles coming to the inspection center.

Although it is the inspection center with the second largest number of vehicles inspected every day in Hanoi, on February 3, Inspection Center 2903V inspected 65 vehicles.

Mr. Tran Quoc Hoan, Deputy Director in charge of Inspection Center 2903V, said that although the unit had predicted that the demand for inspection after Tet would not be high, he was still surprised when the number of inspected vehicles was so low.

According to records, on the first day back to work after Tet, the number of vehicles coming for inspection at the inspection centers was quite low, many times there were no vehicles coming for inspection.

Also in Hanoi, on February 3, Inspection Center 2908D (Hoai Duc) and Inspection Center 2927D (Pham Van Dong Street) only inspected 40 vehicles.

Mr. Tran Nguyen Sinh, Director of Inspection Center 2908D, said that after 8am, the number of vehicles coming for inspection here has been sparse. At many times, there were no vehicles coming for inspection on the three inspection lines here.

In Hung Yen, the leader of Inspection Center 8904D also said that on the first working day after Tet holiday, only more than 40 vehicles came for inspection.

"Most people and businesses have proactively brought their vehicles for inspection before Tet holiday, so the number of vehicles inspected before Tet is high and after Tet becomes less. Compared to the same period last year, the number of vehicles inspected on the first working day this year is lower," added the leader of Inspection Center 8904D.

Similarly, in Hoa Binh, the leader of Inspection Center 2801S also said that the number of vehicles coming for inspection on February 3 was quite low, in the morning, this unit only inspected about 20 vehicles.

According to inspection centers, the current sharp decline in the number of vehicles is the result of the regulations on exemption from first-time inspection and extension of inspection cycles in Circular 02/2023. It is forecasted that people's demand for inspection will be low in all 3 months of the first quarter of 2025.
