On September 13, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported that during the visit, the leader called for increasing the number of uranium enrichment centrifuges to strengthen self-defense nuclear weapons.
Chairman Kim Jong-un stressed the need to increase the number in line with the line of the Korean Workers' Party of Korea to build nuclear armed forces.
Accordingly, Pyongyang needs to further strengthen its weapons-grade nuclear material production platform as well as its centrifuge separation capabilities and push ahead with the project to introduce new machines that are currently in the final stages.
The KCNA report did not disclose the location of the facility or the date of the visit. This is the first time North Korea has publicly disclosed a facility that produces "weapons-grade nuclear material."
North Korean state media reported that on September 11, the head of this Northeast Asian country inspected a special forces (KPA) training facility and tested a new 600mm multiple rocket launcher.
In his directives during the inspection tour, the leader asked the KPA to be "fully ready immediately" to deal with the enemy even if war broke out today. According to him, this is patriotism, loyalty to the state and people, and also the top revolutionary duty of soldiers.
In addition, the North Korean leader oversaw a test to evaluate the performance of a new 600mm multiple rocket launcher.
In response to the new developments, on September 13, South Korea responded to North Korea's announcement of a facility to produce "weapons-grade nuclear materials." The South Korean Unification Ministry affirmed that Seoul will never accept Pyongyang's possession of nuclear weapons.
The ministry said in a statement that Pyongyang must realize that it cannot achieve anything with its nuclear program.
