According to a VNA reporter in Ottawa, the event attracted more than 200 exhibitors and nearly 20,000 visitors to directly exchange and learn detailed information about destinations and vacations as Canada prepares to enter the summer, the season of bustling tourism activities.
The Vietnamese Embassy attended the event with the spirit of widely and strongly promoting the image of the country's tourism as an unmissable destination of the new millennium. With the coordination of the National Tourism Administration and travel agencies, the Vietnamese tourism promotion booth was especially noted for its organization and information provision to visitors.
Sharing with VNA reporters in Canada, Secretary in charge of culture at the Vietnamese Embassy Do Ha Thao said that tourists are very interested in the Vietnamese booth and they often ask about tours or incentives of Vietnamese tourism. According to Ms. Thao, there are even visitors who have been to Vietnam before but still come back to find out more information to prepare for the next trip.
Trip Connoisseurs Canada CEO Chris Wang said Vietnam consistently ranks second among the company’s Asian destinations, behind only Japan, and that tourism in Vietnam is growing rapidly with a booming tourism infrastructure. The company’s travelers who have been to Vietnam have all given positive reviews and want to return. Many have even become regular travelers and want to return to Vietnam after 2-3 years.
Mr. Wang said that Trip Connoisseurs Canada currently organizes about 800 - 1,000 tourists to Vietnam each year and plans to increase this number by designing private tours according to customers' requests. In the future, the company will also design themed tours, combined with visits to famous places such as Hoi An or Sapa.
In fact, the Vietnamese booth attracted attention thanks to its beautiful location and unique layout of images of people and beautiful life in the S-shaped land. Interesting types of tourism and vibrant destinations were prominently introduced, helping visitors understand more about the hospitality of the Vietnamese people.
Vietnamese private travel company Indochina Charmtours and EVA Air, one of the airlines with many connecting flights from Canada to all three regions of Vietnam, also participated in this event to create pieces to guide Canadian tourists to Asia in general and Vietnam in particular in the context that Canadians are looking to separate their destinations in the US. Mr. Linh Ho from EVA Air's Customer Service Department shared that the airline wants to promote more images of Asian countries, especially Vietnam. In addition, the airline also wants to connect with a number of Vietnamese and foreign travel companies to build tours specifically for Canadians to Vietnam and bring the image of Vietnam to Canada.
According to the Organizing Committee, the annual Travel and Holiday Exhibition is a meeting point for travel organizers or tourists to exchange and contact directly with each other. Parties can combine or learn from each other through practical interactions and have the opportunity to expand their business cooperation network in a specific and direct way.
