The Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Tra Vinh province has made many positive and effective contributions to resource management, environmental protection, and climate change response in the province.

Mr. Tran Van Hung, Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Tra Vinh province, said: In 2023, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment actively carried out the task of comprehensive management of natural resources and environment in the province and achieved many important results. Specifically, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment advised the People's Council and People's Committee of Tra Vinh province to issue 21 legal documents; completed the project to build a land database (VILG project); completed the land allocation and zoning plan.

At the same time, implement the district-level land use plan for 2023 and 2024; issue 373 land use right certificates with an area of ​​57.76 hectares, bringing the total number of first-time land use right certificates issued in the province to 626,714, reaching 99.40% of the land area required to be issued; reissue and exchange land use right certificates for more than 10,000 land plots at the request of organizations, households and individuals; complete administrative procedures for over 194,300 records for organizations, households and individuals, reaching 99.32%.

The Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Tra Vinh province has also completed the targets on hazardous waste treatment, medical waste and collection and treatment of domestic waste; handling facilities causing serious environmental pollution according to Decision No. 64/2003/QD-TTg and Decision No. 1788/QD-TTg; organizing 18 environmental monitoring sessions on background and impact environment; operating 7 automatic and continuous surface water, sea water and air monitoring stations. Thereby, closely monitoring and supervising environmental quality changes; inspection and examination work is carried out regularly. Thereby, many hot spots and concerns of people and localities about the environment have been promptly resolved and prevented.

Talking to reporters, Mr. Tran Van Hung, Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Tra Vinh province, said: To complete the targets and tasks set out in 2024, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment is focusing on advising the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of Tra Vinh province to issue legal documents related to the management areas of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment; synthesizing works and projects requiring land recovery and the need to change the purpose of using rice-growing land and protective forest land to other purposes in 2024 and 2025; coordinating with departments, branches, sectors, and localities to implement regulations on compensation, support, and resettlement policies; appraising investment policies for socio-economic development works and projects; strengthening the management and effective exploitation of public lands, creating revenue for the local budget.

At the same time, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Tra Vinh province is also actively supporting a number of communes and districts to implement environmental criteria in the construction of new rural areas, advanced new rural areas, and model new rural areas; implementing digital transformation, further strengthening the construction of land, resources, and environment databases, striving for 100% of work records to be processed online; enhancing the provision of information and online public services at levels 3 and 4; enhancing the application of information technology, building a database of resources and environment; continuing to promote propaganda, dissemination, and education of laws on resources, environment, seas and islands, and climate change response; regularly organizing inspections and checks in the fields of land, environment, water resources, and minerals to promptly detect and handle organizations and individuals who violate the law...
