The "Science and Technology Research Ideas" contest will be held from 2023, creating a useful playground for high school students in the Mekong Delta provinces. In particular, the ideas that win first, second and third prizes will be supported with experimental conditions to participate in the provincial and national science and technology competitions in the 2024-2025 school year.
On October 28, Tra Vinh University announced that it had just awarded the second prize of the "Science and Technology Research Ideas" Contest in 2024, for high school students in and outside Tra Vinh province.
The Organizing Committee awarded 1 First Prize, 2 Second Prizes, 3 Third Prizes and 33 Consolation Prizes. The First Prize went to the topic "Application to support symptom consultation and comprehensive health management" by the group of authors Vo Thi Ngoc Tram, Le Thanh Truc (Nguyen Thien Thanh High School for the Gifted). The Second Prize went to the topic "Equipment to support pond treatment and more effective feeding of baby shrimp" by the author Tran Chi Van (Luong The Vinh High School) and the topic "Integrated equipment to predict and directly overcome saline intrusion in the Mekong Delta region" by the group of authors Bui Nguyen Dang Khoi, Dang Gia Minh (Nguyen Quang Dieu High School for the Gifted).
Third Prize went to the topic "Solutions for reusing air conditioner wastewater: saving water and coping with drought and salinity in the Mekong Delta" by the group of authors Nguyen Minh Trieu, Pham Lam Truc Thao (Nguyen Van Hai High School); the topic "Manufacture of smart door lock device that records images through cloud storage system using Arduino Nano and ESP32 circuits" by the group of authors Pham Thanh Dat, Mai Dai Duong (Luong Tam High School) and the topic "Farmer Technology - smart technology for gardeners" by the group of authors Pha Nhu Huynh, Truong Nguyen Tan Sang, Tran Nguyen The Dan (An Lac Thon High School).
In particular, the ideas that won first, second and third prizes will be supported by Tra Vinh University with experimental conditions to participate in the provincial and national science and technology competition in the 2024-2025 school year. In addition, students who won first, second and third prizes who are students of Tra Vinh University will be supported by the University with a maximum of 15 million VND to implement their research topics.
“In the process of researching ideas to participate in the contest, we learned a lot of related knowledge, helping me and my friends have the opportunity to approach and create practical values from ideas, contributing to improving the value of life,” shared Nguyen Ngoc Dang, a student at Phong Phu High School (Tra Vinh).
The "Science and Technology Research Ideas" contest has been organized by Tra Vinh University since 2023, creating a useful playground for high school students in the Mekong Delta provinces. Thereby, it arouses and encourages the spirit of research, creativity, problem solving, and application of science to life.
This year's competition had 44 research topics from 84 candidates from 21 high schools in Tra Vinh province and the provinces of Dong Thap, Soc Trang, Ben Tre, Vinh Long, and Hau Giang participating.
