The Representative Office of the University of Hong Kong in Vietnam (HKU VN) has just celebrated its 2nd anniversary with an event called "REIvolution: Celebrating Two Years of Research, Education and Impact".
The University of Hong Kong (HKU) is ranked 17th among the world's top universities. Associate Professor Dr. Phan Quang Tuan, Chief Representative of HKU Vietnam, said that Vietnamese students used to choose to study abroad in the US, Australia, UK and Singapore. However, after the COVID-19 pandemic, HKU has increased its presence in Vietnam, supporting research, education, finance, business activities and building strong connections between the two sides.
Statistics for 2023 show that China has become the third most popular study abroad destination, surpassing both the UK and Singapore. This reflects the growing interest of Vietnamese business leaders and students in studying and doing business in Hong Kong in particular and China in general.

In addition to research activities, HKU VN continues to be a launching pad for more than 30 talented Vietnamese students to study and conduct research at the undergraduate and master's levels in Hong Kong. Photo: HKU VN
In 2023 and 2024, HKU (with more than 90 majors) has awarded over 2 million USD in undergraduate and master's scholarships to young Vietnamese people. HKU conducts a series of exchange and communication programs to help the student community and alumni explore the culture and business environment in Vietnam.
