The charity program "Warm Winter 2024 - Sowing Dawn" of the Volunteer Student Team of the Academy of Journalism and Communication (Nghe An Volunteer Student Team at AJC) presented nearly 800 gifts to poor students in Huoi Tu commune, Ky Son district, Nghe An province.
“Dong Am” is one of the annual events of the Nghe An SVTN Team at AJC, organized with the aim of helping children from poor and near-poor households in remote areas of Nghe An province. On January 19, 2024, with the support of Nghe An Provincial Youth Union, the program selected Huoi Tu commune, Ky Son district (Nghe An province) to give gifts to poor students there.
Speaking at the gift-giving ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Anh Vu - Chairman of Tam Thuong Charity Fund - said: "After more than 10 hours traveling from Hanoi to Ky Son, despite the long and arduous journey, I was extremely happy to see the smiles and eyes of the children here. Hopefully, the gifts from the program will help the children reduce some of the difficulties in life, and at the same time support them to be able to give wings to their dreams to fly far."
The Organizing Committee (OC) of “Warm Winter 2024” has presented 795 gifts with a total value of nearly 120 million VND. In addition, through the companion activity “Contribute Books to Children” launched from December 28, 2024 to January 10, 2025, the Nghe An SVTN Team at AJC donated more than 500 books to the libraries of 2 primary and secondary schools, supporting students in their studies and entertainment.
Meaningful gifts given to poor students on the eve of Tet
In addition to the gift-giving activities, the Organizing Committee also organized exchange activities with students and people in Huoi Tu commune. Members of the Nghe An SVTN Team at AJC actively participated in the performances and cooked lunch for the children.
Ms. Hoang Thi Nga Phuong, Team Leader of the Nghe An SVTN Team at AJC, expressed: “Over the past 10 years, generations of the Nghe An SVTN Team at AJC have continuously strived to fulfill their mission of spreading love. This year's trip to Ky Son may be the farthest trip, but the most important thing for the whole Team is to bring gifts to the children, contributing to creating a warm and prosperous Tet for them.”
