Leaders of Binh Phuoc province attended the meeting with the participation of Standing Committee member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Tuyet Minh and leaders of departments, branches, associations and unions of the province.
The Southeast Region Press Awards are held annually to promptly honor and encourage journalists, reporters, editors, collaborators and resident reporters of press agencies in the Southeast region with excellent works published in 2024.
This year, the Organizing Committee received nearly 200 entries in 4 journalism categories from journalists, HNB members, and reporters working at press agencies in the provinces in the region such as Binh Phuoc, Binh Duong, Tay Ninh, Dong Nai, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, and Binh Thuan. After the preliminary round, 80 excellent entries were selected for the final round. The jury decided to award 22 prizes, including: 2 first prizes, 4 second prizes, 6 third prizes, and 10 consolation prizes. Of which, Binh Phuoc Radio - Television and Newspaper (BPTV) had 5 entries in journalism categories winning second, third, and consolation prizes.

According to the Jury, many of the award-winning works have high discovery, rich sources of materials and unique perspectives, contributing to healthy competition among authors. Socio-economic topics and humane everyday stories are widely exploited. However, less attention is paid to issues such as preserving ethnic minority culture, sustainable development and the environment. To raise the level of the award in the future, authors need to focus more on diversity, modernity of expression and systematic investment in both content and technique.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Tuyet Minh informed: In 2024, Binh Phuoc's economic scale will reach more than 115,000 billion VND, 92 times higher than when the province was re-established in 1997. The average GRDP growth rate in the 2021-2025 period will reach 9.4%, attracting FDI investment to date is approximately 5 billion USD... Binh Phuoc's achievements have the participation and active and very important contributions of press agencies, journalists, reporters, and editors inside and outside the province.
2025 is a year of special significance with many important events of the country and Binh Phuoc province, especially the year of the 100th anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press. Therefore, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Tuyet Minh hopes that news agencies and newspapers inside and outside the province will continue to accompany, care for, and support the province in carrying out communication work, introducing achievements in socio-economic development; promoting the image of the homeland, land, and people of Binh Phuoc. Binh Phuoc province will create all favorable conditions for press agencies to operate effectively, in accordance with their principles and purposes, and promote their roles and missions.
Launching the 2026 award, journalist Tran Trong Dung, Vice President of HNB Vietnam and Head of the Award Steering Committee, said: The 4th Southeast Region Press Award is expected to be held in 2026 with print, electronic, radio and television formats. The Organizing Committee hopes that the award will continue to attract a large number of journalists in the region to participate, gradually affirming its position as a professional and prestigious playground, not only for HNB members in the Southeast region but also expanding to all journalists nationwide.
Vice President of Vietnam National Bank Tran Trong Dung emphasized: In the coming time, there will be many important events of strategic significance for the development of the Southeast region and the whole country, including the press sector. This is an opportunity for press agencies and journalists to demonstrate their capacity, to produce articles with large amounts of information, in a rich, modern format, with high orientation, accompanied by proposals and solutions, in line with the trend of "solution journalism" to bring the viewpoints, guidelines and policies of the Party and State into real life. In addition, the press needs to pay attention to policy criticism, contributing to overcoming shortcomings, weaknesses and bottlenecks to promote the development of all aspects of the region.
On this occasion, Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper presented 50 scholarships worth 50 million VND to support poor students in Binh Phuoc province; presented 2,000 national flags to Thuan Loi commune, Dong Phu district and Phu Trung commune, Phu Rieng district. Vietnam Traffic Safety Association presented 300 helmets to its members./.
