Chan Long Temple, also known as Hang Tong Temple, has three palaces built by King Le Thanh Tong in the mid-15th century.
The story goes that in the past, when King Le Thanh Tong (1442-1497) personally led troops to attack Champa, when the fleet of boats passed through the Dan Nhai River, suddenly a storm arose, and three eggs appeared on the water's surface, making it impossible for the boats to pass.
Seeing this, the king prayed: "If you help me defeat the enemy, I will be rewarded when I return." After that, the wind and waves calmed down and the boat sailed smoothly. Returning victorious, remembering his old oath, the king ordered the construction of a temple to worship "Chan Long Dai Vuong" and gave the god the title "Tam Lang".

The temple is a place for the king to thank the gods, to summon the souls of those who fell on the battlefield, and is also a sacred place for people to pray for peace. The temple currently has 3 halls, each with 3 rooms, built on a piece of land near the riverbank, next to a large ebony tree, the roots of which are so large that an adult cannot hug them around their arms. The upper hall has 3 thrones and 3 royal coffins.
Chan Long Temple organizes the "Luc Ngoat" festival every two years on the 15th day of the 6th lunar month. The festival is elaborately organized, taking the story of King Le Thanh Tong fighting against the Champa army, so he arranged a naval and land battle with many types of troops, with 3 large chests containing clothes and enough weapons to equip the participants in the procession.

After many historical ups and downs, Chan Long Temple was seriously degraded. In 2012, the temple was restored and rebuilt with a total cost of 3.6 billion VND contributed by local people. In 2015, Chan Long Temple was recognized as a provincial historical relic by the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province. Due to many objective factors, up to now, Xuan Hai Commune People's Committee has just organized a ceremony to receive the certificate according to the wishes of local people.
Chan Long Temple is a place to educate the tradition of patriotism, the gratitude of generations to the generals who sacrificed their lives in the cause of fighting against foreign invaders to protect the country; at the same time, it promotes spiritual and cultural values, is a sacred place for everyone to pray for favorable weather, bountiful crops, family peace, and to build an increasingly rich and civilized homeland.
