Ho Chi Minh City puts into operation the Center for Industrial Revolution 4.0

Within the framework of attending the 5th Ho Chi Minh City Economic Forum with the theme “Industrial transformation, new driving force for sustainable development of Ho Chi Minh City”, this morning (September 25), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the inauguration ceremony of the Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR) in Ho Chi Minh City.

Attending the inauguration ceremony were comrades: Pham Minh Chinh, Politburo member, Prime Minister; Nguyen Van Nen, Politburo member, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Phan Van Mai, Central Party Committee member, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh explained the story of the birth of this Center. Accordingly, the Prime Minister and Chairman of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Klaus Schwab discussed many times about the need to do something for Vietnam in a practical, effective way, in line with the trend of the times, in line with Vietnam's capabilities and conditions. After that, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs signed with WEF and Ho Chi Minh City to concretize it so that today C4IR was established.

The Prime Minister welcomed Ho Chi Minh City for taking on this task and implementing it very quickly, with a public-private partnership initiative that helped speed up the implementation.

Talking about the significance of the Center, the Prime Minister emphasized that C4IR's first significance is to implement the Party's policies and guidelines on the 4.0 industrial revolution from the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress and Resolution 29 of the Central Committee on developing industrialization and modernization of the country.

According to the Prime Minister, C4IR also meets the practical requirements of the country's development. Science and technology, innovation, and the 4.0 industrial revolution are objective requirements, strategic choices, and top priorities for us to develop the country in the new period. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also emphasized that C4IR carries out Vietnam's deep integration in the fields of science and technology, innovation, especially participating in implementing and promoting the 4.0 industrial revolution with the world.

According to the Prime Minister, C4IR also demonstrates the pioneering role of Ho Chi Minh City as an economic, political, social, and national defense center of the country. At the same time, the center also demonstrates the intellectual capacity, aspiration, and pride of the country.

At the same time, C4IR also affirms the close relationship between Vietnam and WEF.

Stating the responsibility of the Government, ministries and branches to guide policies and build institutions, the Prime Minister requested Ho Chi Minh City to create favorable conditions for infrastructure and mechanisms for the center to operate smoothly. Enterprises and founders continue to invest and undertake tasks within their capacity on behalf of the State so that the center can have better operating conditions in terms of finance, infrastructure investment, attracting human resources, management, etc.

The Prime Minister also entrusted the center with 20 words: "Pioneering, cooperating, connecting, digitalizing, greening, practical, effective, spreading, for the country, for the people".
