“The president was injured while riding his motorcycle. The injury is not serious, but he will be kept in hospital for a short time,” Pavel’s office said on the social media platform X.

Police told X that the accident happened on a closed road and was not a traffic accident.
Mr Pavel's office had previously said he planned to visit Jordan, but it was unclear whether the trip would be scheduled for next week.
The Czech president is also expected to host NATO foreign ministers for an informal meeting in Prague next week, according to diplomatic sources.
Mr. Petr Pavel, 62 years old, took office as President of the Czech Republic from March 2023. He is a former Commander of the Czech Army and a senior NATO official.
He is known for his passion for motorcycling and currently rides a BMW R1200 GS. He visited neighboring Germany on a motorbike shortly after taking office and has maintained his motorcycling hobby to this day.
