Today, July 17, Director of the State Bank of Vietnam, Quang Tri Province Branch, Nguyen Duc Dong, chaired a conference to review banking activities in the first 6 months of the year and deploy tasks for the last 6 months of 2024.

According to the report of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) Quang Tri branch, in the first 6 months of the year, the management and operation of banks in the area achieved positive results, contributing to the completion of the province's socio-economic goals. The network of credit institutions developed diversely, synchronously, in the right direction and effectively.

By June 30, 2024, the province has 23 credit institutions, 11 grassroots people's credit funds, and 52 bank transaction offices. Capital mobilization ensures meeting capital needs for economic development and serving the lives of all classes of people.

By June 30, 2024, the mobilized capital balance reached VND 38,531 billion, an increase of VND 2,094 billion, an increase of 5.75% compared to the end of 2023; credit turnover reached VND 40,053 billion, an increase of VND 11,765 billion, an increase of 41.59% over the same period last year; total outstanding loans to the economy reached VND 53,016 billion, an increase of VND 1,408 billion, an increase of 2.73% compared to the end of 2023; outstanding social policy credit balance reached VND 5,075 billion, an increase of VND 307 billion, an increase of 6.44% compared to the end of 2023.

The direction and management of the provincial branch of the State Bank of Vietnam has been effective in implementing key tasks. The provincial branch of the State Bank of Vietnam has proactively and actively implemented and focused on guiding documents related to banking activities in 2024.

Direct credit institutions to strengthen the review, simplification and shortening of processes and procedures, increase the application of technology and digital transformation in the credit granting process; promote lending for production and business activities, especially lending for industrial production, trade and services, closely following large projects and key projects in the area.

Credit institutions have diversified banking credit products and services to suit each customer and market segment; provided full and timely information on preferential credit programs and policies so that customers can easily access low-interest loans.

Continue to effectively implement social policy credit programs. Actively and practically implement the bank-enterprise connection program in appropriate and effective forms.

At the conference, representatives of credit institutions contributed ideas, exchanged and discussed to clarify the contents of tasks performed in the past time, directions and key tasks in the coming time.

Speaking at the conference, Director of the State Bank of Vietnam’s provincial branch Nguyen Duc Dong requested credit institutions to continue to effectively implement preferential credit packages to support people and businesses in accessing credit capital conveniently, limiting and gradually pushing back black credit, especially in rural areas.

In lending, we must be cautious and strict in areas with high potential risks (real estate, securities, etc.). Effectively reduce lending interest rates in a synchronous manner to help people and businesses save costs, develop the economy and their lives. Effectively implement credit policies according to the policies of the Government and the industry.

Strengthen inspection, supervision, prevention and suppression of law violations, effectively implement the cashless payment project, promote digital transformation in the banking sector, especially the implementation of Project 06, Decision 2345/QD-NHNN, ensure the safety of information technology systems, electronic payments, and card payments in the area. Continue to review and improve administrative procedures, simplify procedures to facilitate businesses and people to easily access banking services.
