Organize high school graduation exams safely, seriously, thoughtfully and friendly

On the afternoon of June 21, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long chaired a meeting with ministries and branches on preparations and organization of the 2024 high school graduation exam. The meeting took place just one week before the exam, which is of great significance to more than 1 million candidates.

This is the final high school graduation exam for students studying under the 2006 general education program; the nature, scale, and level of this exam are the same as every year.

Reporting on the exam preparation, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Ngoc Thuong said that the spirit is to create all favorable conditions for candidates, especially candidates from disadvantaged areas and ethnic minority areas; not to let any candidate due to difficult economic conditions or transportation difficulties not be able to take the exam. Absolutely do not let candidates bring phones or technological devices into the exam room.

Secretary of the Central Youth Union Ngo Van Cuong said that 1,593 exam support teams have been established at all exam sites nationwide with more than 58,700 volunteers; 100% of exam sites have youth volunteer teams on duty to support candidates during exam days.

Concluding the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long emphasized the need to organize the exam well, ensure the exam takes place safely, meeting the set requirements; absolutely do not be negligent or subjective. The Ministry of Education and Training, relevant ministries, branches and agencies continue to make efforts and proactively carry out assigned tasks, including applying information technology to serve the exam and securing exam papers. The Deputy Prime Minister requested to strengthen the implementation of solutions to prevent and combat exam cheating, not allowing candidates to bring technological devices to cheat into the exam room; in particular, it is necessary to step up inspection, supervision and examination before and during the exam. In addition, it is necessary to proactively have plans to respond to unusual situations that may occur such as unusual weather developments. The Ministry of Public Security deploys professional measures to ensure absolute security and safety for the exam; the Central Youth Union directs Youth Union chapters at all levels to actively participate in supporting candidates so that candidates can participate in the exam fully and safely.
