2023 continues to be a year of many difficulties and challenges for the world economy in general and Vietnam in particular. Enterprises in Ha Tinh are no exception to these negative impacts. Many enterprises lack orders, some even have to temporarily suspend operations; the lives of workers are significantly affected.
Many businesses are affected by the world economy.
In that context, Ha Tinh Trade Union has had policies to accompany, support and stabilize the ideology of union members and workers so that they can confidently overcome difficult times with the enterprise.
In Vung Ang Economic Zone - where the most enterprises and workers in the province are concentrated, recently, enterprises in the textile, seafood, and wood product manufacturing industries... have encountered difficulties due to the scarcity of orders and high prices of raw materials; some have had to cut down on labor. "In that situation, the trade union has surveyed and grasped the labor situation, employment, and concerns of workers; at the same time, coordinated with enterprises to find orders; contacted enterprises that need to recruit workers to introduce jobs to workers who are being laid off" - Chairman of the Trade Union of Provincial Economic Zones Nguyen Duc Thach said.
The Policy and Law Department of the Provincial Labor Federation directly grasps the labor and employment situation and guides businesses and employees on the procedures for submitting documents for approval of support from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
Trade unions at all levels also implement the policy of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on implementing policies to support union members and employees whose working hours have been reduced or whose labor contracts have been terminated due to businesses cutting orders. Up to now, the provincial Labor Federation is receiving and completing documents for review and proposing the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to provide support according to regulations.
In addition to accompanying workers facing difficulties at enterprises, in 2023, trade unions at all levels will also implement many programs to support union members and workers associated with the emulation movement to welcome the congresses of trade unions at all levels for the 2023-2028 term.
In 2023, the Provincial Federation of Labor supported the construction and repair of 78 union shelters for union members.
Sharing his joy at receiving financial support to build a union house, Mr. Tran Thanh Binh (a union member of the Bac Ha Tinh Irrigation Company Limited) said: “For many years, my family has had to rent a place to live, because the workers' salary is so low that we can barely cover our daily life, so we dare not dream of building a house. The 50 million VND that the union supported is the motivation for us to borrow more to build a new house. This Tet, being able to gather in a warm, spacious house, there is truly no greater joy for my family...”.
Caring and sharing with the difficulties and shortages of union members and workers in remote areas, the Education Trade Union has connected and called for more than 11.8 billion VND to build 6 public housing projects for officials and teachers; 1 school sanitation project for mountainous districts such as: Huong Khe, Huong Son, Vu Quang, Ky Anh...
The Provincial Economic Zones Trade Union presented many gifts to disadvantaged workers on the occasion of Workers' Month 2023.
