Nghe An Provincial Party Committee supports people affected by storm No. 3

This morning (September 11), Nghe An Provincial Party Committee organized a support event for people affected by storm No. 3. Attending the support event were comrades: Thai Thanh Quy, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Van Thong, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Hoang Nghia Hieu, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; comrades in the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee and leaders, cadres, experts of Party Committees, the Provincial Party Committee Office, and the Provincial Party Committee Inspection Committee.

At the beginning of the ceremony, delegates observed a minute of silence to commemorate the officers and soldiers who died while performing rescue missions and the people who died due to the impact of storm No. 3 in recent days.

Storm No. 3, internationally named Yagi, is the strongest storm in the past 30 years in the East Sea and in the past 70 years on the mainland of our country, making landfall directly in the Northern region, increasing irregularly, staying on land for a long time, and the storm's area of ​​influence is wide. The storm's circulation has caused very heavy rain and floods; some places exceeded the highest flood level in history; landslides, flash floods, and flash floods in many localities, causing extremely heavy damage to people and property of the people and the State. As of the morning of September 11, over 200 people died and went missing due to the storm's circulation causing floods and landslides in the Northern provinces. Cao Bang, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Thai Nguyen... are the provinces that suffered the most damage.

Faced with the damage caused by storm No. 3, General Secretary and President To Lam called for continuing to strongly promote "national love and compatriotism" to provide the highest, fastest, and most timely support to families suffering from loss of life and property caused by natural disasters.
