Reporting at the meeting, Mr. Le Tuan Anh - Chairman of the Board of Thu Dau Mot University said that the University has the task of training high-quality human resources, scientific research to serve the socio-economic development, international integration of Binh Duong province and the Southeast region. Accordingly, the University determines the goal of becoming a multi-disciplinary, multi-field, multi-level university with many member schools; a smart, happy school, associated with a smart city, an innovation zone of Binh Duong province.

The core mission of the School is to provide undergraduate and postgraduate training to 30,000 students. Priority will be given to training in fields that meet the digital age, health and medical services, engineering, high-tech smart agriculture; high-quality general education combined with teacher training.

In the future, the School will focus its resources on investment in construction and operations mainly at the Ben Cat City campus. From 2031 onwards, the School will be financially autonomous at level 1 (fully autonomous), and will spend about 200-250 billion/year for investment. By 2035, the school will basically complete the construction of spacious and modern facilities.

Mr. Vo Van Minh - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee delivered a concluding speech at the meeting.

Concluding the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Minh basically agreed with the report proposing the development plan of the School. He requested the School's leaders to quickly coordinate with relevant departments and branches to resolve issues related to land, facilities, etc. to serve the School's development roadmap in the current period. The School needs to absorb the opinions at the meeting to promptly edit, update and supplement the detailed Project to submit to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and approval.

In addition, the University should have solutions to attract and develop human resources to gradually become an associate member of Ho Chi Minh City National University and move towards becoming a affiliated member.

Thu Dau Mot University currently offers 53 undergraduate majors, 11 master’s majors, and 01 doctoral major; with over 22,000 students currently enrolled. In 15 years of university training, over 50,000 engineers, bachelors, and masters have entered the labor market.

The school has met the school-level accreditation standards for 02 consecutive cycles (2017, 2023); all training programs are accredited by MOET (Ministry of Education and Training), accredited according to AUN-QA standards (ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance Organization) and achieved high rankings according to domestic and international rankings.

University autonomy from July 1, 2019 according to the Law on Higher Education.
