On November 12, the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang City's tourist beaches said that the body of a student who was swept away by waves while swimming in Da Nang beach was found drifting ashore.
Accordingly, at around 6am on November 12, some people were exercising in the morning when they discovered a body drifting ashore and urgently reported it to the authorities.
Receiving the information, the authorities promptly arrived at the scene and took professional measures to serve the verification and investigation.
Through inspection, the authorities identified the body as D.VKD (14 years old, living on Nguyen Nhan Street, Cam Le District, Da Nang) who was swept away by waves and had been missing for the past 2 days. The location where people discovered the body was about 2km from where D. drowned.
Authorities brought the victim's body ashore.
After completing the required procedures, the authorities handed over the victim's body to the family for funeral arrangements.
Previously, at 3:30 p.m. on November 10, at Sao Bien beach, local residents discovered two students drowning while swimming, so they coordinated with the Da Nang City Coast Guard to rescue them.
Due to big waves and strong winds, the rescue team was only able to save P.D.M. (14 years old, residing in Hoa Chau commune, Hoa Vang district, Da Nang) and take him to the hospital. The remaining student, D.VKD (14 years old, residing on Nguyen Nhan street, Cam Le district, Da Nang), was swept away by the waves and went missing.
Immediately afterwards, Non Nuoc Border Guard Station (Da Nang City Border Guard) mobilized officers and soldiers along with jet skis and canoes to coordinate with the Son Tra Peninsula Management Board and Da Nang tourist beaches, and local authorities to search for D. but to no avail.
