As reported by Tuoi Tre Online , on June 26, the Tra Tan Commune Police, Bac Tra My District, Quang Nam Province, assisted a male Korean tourist to reunite with his relatives and family after getting lost while visiting Hoi An.
This tourist is Mr. Kyucheol (48 years old), who came to Hoi An for sightseeing with his mother and sister. On the afternoon of June 24, he rented a motorbike at the hotel to visit Hoi An.
However, while driving, he got lost and went to the mountainous area of Bac Tra My, more than 100km from Hoi An. On June 26, Tra Tan Commune Police helped him find his relatives.
Speaking with Tuoi Tre Online , Senior Lieutenant Tran Quoc Hoan - an officer of Tra Tan Commune Police - recounted that on the morning of June 26, through the work of grasping the situation in the area, the commune police recorded a case of a foreign tourist who got lost in the commune.
When Lieutenant Hoan approached Mr. Kyucheol, he spoke Korean, but very little English. Using Google Translate, we could only verify his name. In addition, he had no phone or identification on him.
When working with the police, Mr. Kyucheol provided a motorbike key, on the key chain was attached a leather plate with the motorbike's license plate number.
“From there, we contacted the Traffic Police Department of Bac Tra My District Police to help verify the owner of the motorbike. After verifying the owner, we got the phone number of the person who rented the motorbike and contacted the hotel where he was staying. Then we contacted his mother and sister to pick him up,” said Senior Lieutenant Hoan.

Kind people help feed and give money to lost tourists
Lieutenant Hoan added that the night before (June 25), when he got lost in this locality, Mr. Kyucheol's car ran out of gas so he parked it on the side of the road, then walked and slept on the side of the road.
The next morning he was hungry, so he went to people's houses to beg for food and drink because he did not have any money with him.
"When I met him, the people here were kind, they supported me with food and drinks, some even gave me money for gas" - Lieutenant Hoan said.
According to Mr. Kyucheol's relatives, he showed signs of depression and had to be accompanied by family members wherever he went. When his mother and sister came to pick him up at the commune police station, they expressed their gratitude to the police force.
