Nguyen Ngoc Khoi, Director of I-Art Media Company, is connecting and meeting partners at a regular event of the BNI business community network.

The writer has attended many similar events with exciting business networking activities, but the atmosphere that BNI brings is very different. Businesses that have never known each other, have never met each other, but the distance is no longer too great, hundreds of businessmen are radiant in formal attire, laughing and talking naturally, communicating enthusiastically by lightly swiping their phones to understand "everything" about each other. Nguyen Ngoc Khoi, 25 years old, Director of I-Art Media Company, started his business with a passion for photography, film creation and communication, has just joined the BNI group but has begun to become an active member.

Ngoc Khoi shared: "I opened a studio specializing in media such as photography, video... Because of the characteristics of this industry, if you want to have many customers, you have to actively advertise, but for a new entrepreneur like me, it is impossible to cover advertising costs in the traditional way. Therefore, I chose to connect directly, participating in many groups and business communities. But most of the groups face the same barrier: trust. When there is no trust, it is difficult to sign or conclude any contract. And in the end, I found that BNI has solved that problem well. The members participating here all have transparent profiles, which are evaluated very accurately. Those who have participated for a long time, those who have contributed a lot, those who have successful sales connections are all clearly updated, just by looking at it, you can understand everything about the partner, know whether they are reputable or not".

Connecting the business community through the BNI network

Ms. Phan Thi Kim Hue, CEO of ITO Technology Company (HCMC) said: "My company specializes in creating and designing mobile applications according to customer orders, especially European customers. However, since the Covid-19 pandemic, economic difficulties have caused a decrease in the number of customers and partners. I came to the BNI community to find more customers and was really attracted by the organization of this network. I know many other groups take advantage of recruiting members to increase income, but this organization operates very transparently, classifying and screening members according to their capacity and reputation. Those who introduce new people do not benefit in terms of money other than the recognition of increased prestige. When I first joined here, I was just a normal member, but after a period of evaluation, I was trusted by everyone to take on a management position, building many other groups to help each other develop."

As she spoke, Ms. Kim Hue demonstrated to us how to connect with customers with just one touch on a smartphone. "This is an application created and developed by my company based on the need to connect the community of this network. With a pre-designed QR code, when meeting with other business people, they just need to scan it with their phone to find out full information about the formation process, operations and other information to contact. Compared to other organizations I have participated in, connecting through such a modern, technologically advanced network is very convenient and effective," Ms. Kim Hue concluded.

Besides BNI, the business community and business clubs are also gradually changing their approach. Mr. Phung Vinh Vui, Vice President of the Saigon - Khanh Hoa Business Club, shared: "With the increasing changes and application of technology, the business community must also change its connection methods to support businesses more effectively. In particular, we will take turns for each business to become the main speaker of the activities, from which they will introduce themselves in detail about their business. Or businesses will choose topics, share their skills and strengths for other businesses to improve together. For example, we will have members who are strong in livestreaming skills, online sales to share and guide other members, thus supporting businesses to improve their competitiveness, keep up with trends, and help them have partners and opportunities to approach and do business."
