Mr. Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet, Chief of Office, spokesman of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said that this unit has directed the authorities to investigate the matter of ViruSs and some TikTokers livestreaming (broadcasting live) talking about love scandals, attracting millions of viewers.
"The Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information will investigate the incident and will have the latest announcements for the press agencies," said Mr. Viet.
Previously, the incident of ViruSs opening livestream sessions to confront the romantic relationships between this streamer and some girls such as Ngoc Kem and rapper Phao (Nguyen Dieu Huyen) caused a stir on social networks.
The live broadcasts attracted millions of viewers. On the evening of March 28 alone, the live session had more than 4 million viewers, at one point attracting more than 1.5 million viewers at the same time.
Videos cut from the confrontation were shared on many social media platforms, also attracting millions of views and comments.
Cultural research expert Doan Xuan Huong said that today's youth are following the crowd mentality, seeing any noisy, attractive event, they will invite each other and share to watch together.
"But they don't know that those dramas are very toxic to young people, because they are just arguments about love and personal matters.
If the old people used to say "should not, should not, keep it to yourself", now the young people expose everything to outsiders. To me, those are ugly stories, not effective in educating anyone...", Ms. Huong expressed.
MC Le Anh also frankly stated that the phenomenon of streamer ViruSs conversing with his friends was a private conversation, unverified, unacademic, uneducated, and unoriented.
According to MC Le Anh, the livestream session of ViruSs and friends not only caused offense but also showed signs of violating Decree 147/2024/ND-CP on livestream activities and account verification.
MC Le Anh also shared: "No country can go far if the young generation spends hours watching love dramas, instead of investing in learning, creativity and mastering the future.
The young generation of Vietnam deserves bigger goals. Not just a "like", a laugh at 1am, a meaningless argument".
ViruSs's real name is Dang Tien Hoang, born in 1990, in Hanoi. Coming from a family with an artistic tradition, since childhood, ViruSs spent most of his time studying music, receiving piano training at the Hanoi Conservatory of Music.
Later, he became active as a gamer and was the captain of Hanoi Dragons - a famous domestic League of Legends team.
In 2014, ViruSs stopped competing and became a streamer, commentating on e-sports tournaments. He is known as one of the "four kings of streamers" in Vietnam, along with Do Mixi, PewPew, and Xemesis.
Besides his work as a streamer, ViruSs also has many activities in the entertainment industry. He was once called a "hit-maker" when he composed, performed or produced many famous songs such as: Troi hi troi mang di (AMEE), Saying goodbye is really hard (Thuy Chi, Tran Thanh), Yeu duoc khong (Duc Phuc), Dom dom (Jack)...
In particular, the song "Thang dien" co-composed by ViruSs and JustaTee (performed by JustaTee and Phuong Ly) created a stir on social networks in 2018. To date, the song has reached 265 million views on YouTube.
