Dozens of candidates from missile regiments across the Army performed theoretical and practical content.

In which, the theoretical part focuses on studying the enemy; combat command of the air defense missile battalion; combat staff command, training staff; tactics, tactical teams; rules for shooting at different types of targets; combat preparation work; Party work, political work, logistics and technical work.

For the practical content, candidates build and report on a combat plan to fight an enemy air attack to protect the assigned target and shoot the K54 gun in lesson 1.

After the opening ceremony, the contestants performed the contest content.

The content of this competition is basic and comprehensive issues in all aspects of work. Captain Tran Duc Hieu, Battalion Commander of Battalion 63, Regiment 236, Division 361 said: Participating in the competition is an opportunity for us to compete, learn, supplement knowledge, practice bravery, methods, working style, to meet increasingly high requirements of the task. Therefore, despite the hot weather, the unit performing many intertwined tasks, the competition content has many new issues, must be updated closely to reality, but we still take advantage of day and night to review to participate in the competition to achieve the highest results".

Talking to us, Colonel Bui Duc Hien said: To improve the combat readiness of the Service in general, and the missile fire squad combat teams in particular, to meet the requirements of the current situation, especially the task of firmly protecting the airspace, sea, border, islands, and mainland of the Fatherland, in recent years, the Standing Party Committee and the Air Defense - Air Force Command have always paid attention to, led, and directed innovation and improvement of the quality of training of combat teams, attaching importance to training to improve the mettle and mentality of commanders, and fundamentally overcoming shortcomings and weaknesses in training. In particular, through competitions like this, it will help the Battalion Commanders improve their working methods and command skills; as a basis for continuing to train, plan, and create cadres in the coming years.

Division 365 - the host unit of the contest has done a good job of preparing, fully and thoughtfully ensuring logistics, techniques, facilities and equipment for the contest.

As planned, the 2023 Competition for Excellent Air Defense Missile Battalion Commanders will close on June 9.
