According to the Ministry of National Defense, at 11:00 a.m. today, April 1, the army's engineering rescue team found a body buried in the rubble. The discovery of the victim's body was assisted by sniffer dogs, wall-penetrating radar, and image search equipment to determine the location.

According to the victim's family, the person trapped and killed in the collapsed building 2386 (in Bala Tidi area, Zabu Thiri district, Naypyidaw capital) was Mr. U Maung Tin, 74 years old. There were 4 families living in this building.
When the earthquake happened, there was an old man and an old woman with a small child in the house. The old man's children were all at work. The small child was also trapped inside and was later rescued, losing a leg.
"I thought it was impossible to get my father out, but you did it. I'm so moved I don't know what to say. Thank you so much," said the victim's family.

Also on April 1, the Vietnam People’s Army rescue team promptly delivered food to the people of Myanmar who lost their homes due to the earthquake. The gifts and timely words of encouragement from the rescue team helped the victims’ families to ease their pain and loss.
Major General Pham Van Ty, Deputy Director of the Department of Rescue and Relief, commander of the Vietnam People's Army delegation participating in supporting earthquake relief in Myanmar, said that rescue work encountered many difficulties because when using equipment to separate and drill concrete, the structure could easily collapse, endangering the rescue team.

However, with great effort and determination to overcome difficulties, after more than 4 hours, the rescue team of the Vietnam People's Army was able to bring the old man's body out and hand it over to his family for funeral arrangements.
