On the afternoon of March 29, three provincial-level judicial branches including the Public Security, People's Court, and People's Procuracy of Thanh Hoa province held an online conference to review the implementation of coordination regulations in investigation, prosecution, trial, and execution of criminal sentences in 2023.

According to the report, in 2023, the work of receiving and handling denunciations and reports of crimes was carried out seriously and strictly by the two-level judicial sectors in accordance with the provisions of law; the receiving and handling agencies and the monitoring agencies fully informed each other of the handling results and promptly notified agencies and individuals with petitions sent to the judicial agencies.

In the past year, although the number of cases to be handled and resolved increased compared to the same period last year, with increasingly complex nature, the three branches and two levels made many efforts in investigation, prosecution and trial; the rate of handling some types of cases reached and exceeded the set targets, and no cases exceeded the statutory time limit due to subjective reasons.

The leaders of the three sectors always pay attention to directing the effective implementation of the coordination regulations, thereby the sense of responsibility of the team of investigators, prosecutors, and judges towards their work has clearly changed. The quality of investigation, prosecution, trial of crimes, and execution of criminal sentences has been improved. The coordination relationship between the three judicial sectors at the two levels of Thanh Hoa province has become increasingly close.

The quality of investigation, prosecution and trial of criminal cases continues to be improved. There are no cases of wrongful convictions or missed crimes. The punishments that the Court applies to the defendants are guaranteed to be strict, commensurate with the nature, level, behavior and personality of the offender in each case. The sentencing of the defendant to prison but giving the defendant a suspended sentence or non-custodial reform is carefully considered and weighed by the Trial Panel, ensuring compliance with the provisions of the Penal Code and the guidance of the Supreme People's Court's Judicial Council.

The work of selecting and resolving typical cases of the three sectors was carried out in accordance with procedures and regulations, bringing high efficiency in crime prevention and control, promptly serving local political tasks, having the effect of propagating the law; preventing, deterring and reducing crime.

Review the list of convicts and propose timely, effective and lawful enforcement measures; promptly correct errors and limitations in deciding on cases of postponement, temporary suspension of judgment execution and reduction of the term of serving the sentence...

At the conference, delegates discussed and analyzed the causes and results achieved; pointed out some limitations and shortcomings, and proposed and recommended many positive solutions to improve the effectiveness of coordination in investigation, prosecution and trial of crimes among the three provincial-level judicial branches in 2024.
