Nam Ha Tinh Irrigation Company Limited is a 100% state-owned enterprise. Currently, the Company manages, exploits and protects irrigation works in 6 districts, cities and towns in the South of Ha Tinh, including 33 reservoirs, 4 dams, 1 saltwater prevention and freshwater retention sluice and over 438km of canals, irrigation for annual agricultural production of over 45,000ha, ensuring safety and promoting the effectiveness of the works.

Director of Nam Ha Tinh Irrigation Company Limited Tran Manh Cuong reported on the company's performance from 2020 to present and the company's future directions and tasks.

In the period of 2020 - 2022, the company has proactively developed a water supply plan, directed units to organize the operation, regulate and distribute water resources reasonably, ensuring adequate irrigation water supply, contributing to the success of the agricultural sector in the southern districts of Ha Tinh. The company has also coordinated with the PCTT & TKCN command committees of districts, towns and cities to develop a natural disaster prevention and search and rescue plan to ensure it is close to reality.

At the meeting, the company's leaders raised a number of difficulties and problems such as: Many construction items are damaged and seriously degraded; there are still violations of the law on the protection of irrigation works such as: planting trees, building houses, tents, fences, camps, farms, digging ponds; the use of water in some localities on irrigation systems is still wasteful, with losses in irrigation areas...

The company recommends that the province consider and allocate funding for the "Irrigation Career" item in the province's revenue and expenditure estimates to support businesses in managing and exploiting irrigation works in the area, gradually implementing the contents of ensuring the safety of dams, reservoirs, and repairing canal systems.

At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Tran Van Ky and Head of the Economic - Budget Committee of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Thi Thuy Nga acknowledged and highly appreciated the results achieved by the company in recent times; at the same time, requested the company to continue to review and evaluate the current status of works, maintain and improve the quality of irrigation works; coordinate and thoroughly handle violations of the law on the protection of irrigation works; focus on the safety of reservoirs and dams during the rainy and stormy season...

For recommendations and proposals from units, the Economic - Budget Committee will synthesize and send them to competent authorities for consideration and resolution.
