Tu Thinh Commune (Son Duong) in 2024 was assigned to plant 35 hectares of new production forest, maintaining a forest cover rate of over 64%. Comrade Pham Quy Cao, Chairman of Tu Thinh Commune People's Committee, said that for the past 3 weeks, there have been heavy rains, the soil has enough moisture, people have planted nearly 20 hectares, and it is expected that this month the plan will be basically achieved. Currently, Tu Thinh has over 1,037 hectares of production forest planted with acacia trees, with an average wood yield of 70 to 80 m³/ha/7-year cycle, the entire forest area has been granted FSC certification. This is a major source of income for the people.

In 2024, the entire Son Duong district strives to plant 1,835 hectares of concentrated forests. Son Duong Forestry Company Limited was assigned by the province to plant 400 hectares of new forests. Mr. Nguyen Hong Thai, Director of Son Duong Forestry Company Limited, said: Immediately after being assigned the plan, the Company issued a document instructing households to register for forest planting. In February, the design was completed so that people could be proactive in timely handling the vegetation during the forest planting season. The design ensures the correct plot, the correct subject, the correct area, technical guidance, urging the clearing of vegetation, digging holes, and preliminary acceptance of the site. However, due to the prolonged dry weather, the unit had to stop planting until mid-April when there was heavy rain to continue planting to ensure the plants survived and developed well. Up to this point, the company has planted over 350 hectares, reaching over 80% of the plan.

In 2024, Chiem Hoa district plans to plant 1,700 hectares of new forest, of which 1,620 hectares are concentrated forest planting and 80 hectares are scattered tree planting. Comrade Bui Duc Thinh, Deputy Head of Chiem Hoa Forest Protection Department, said: The whole district has planted 44% of the plan. The reasons are both subjective and objective, in which the prolonged hot weather affects people's forest planting. On the other hand, post-harvest forest planting depends on the resources and conditions of households. In the past few days, there has been rain in Chiem Hoa, the forest rangers are focusing on supporting seedlings according to Resolution 03 of the Provincial People's Council so that people can plant forests according to plan while the weather is rainy and favorable for tree growth.

Timely support for seedlings

In 2024, Yen Son district plans to plant 3,192 hectares of new forest. To ensure the progress of forest planting according to plan, specialized agencies together with communes and towns will review the forest planting area to promptly support seedlings, urge and guide people to handle the vegetation, and implement forest planting in the best time frame.

Tan Long commune currently has over 1,950 hectares of production forest land, with annual revenue from forests reaching over 50 billion VND, accounting for 1/4 of the commune's total income. In 2024, the commune plans to plant 106 hectares of new forest, including 102.5 hectares of concentrated forest and 3.5 hectares of scattered forest. Over 70% of forest planting households have registered to receive support for high-quality seedlings according to Resolution 03 of the Provincial People's Council. Most of the seedlings that people have registered to receive support are acacia, eucalyptus, dổi, tram, and cinnamon.

Comrade Hoang Thi Hang, Vice Chairman of Tan Long Commune People's Committee, said that in order to prepare the best conditions for spring forest planting, the Commune People's Committee has issued documents directing forest planting and forest fire prevention. In recent days, the weather has been humid and rainy, the Commune People's Committee and the local forest rangers have actively surveyed the base, grasped the actual situation, guided people to properly handle the ground cover, dig holes, and prepare for forest planting.

This year, Mr. Tran Van Quan's family in Hamlet 16, Tan Long Commune registered to plant 6 hectares of new hybrid acacia trees according to Resolution 03 of the Provincial People's Council. Currently, his family is actively preparing the necessary conditions to focus on planting forests in the best season, ensuring good tree growth and development. Mr. Quan said that in recent years, thanks to the development of forest planting, his family and many other households in the commune have improved their economy. Households also proactively choose new plant varieties suitable for soil conditions to ensure good tree growth and development, high productivity and economic efficiency.

These days, the Ham Yen District Forest Protection Department is making efforts to provide high-quality seedlings for forest planting according to Resolution 03 of the Provincial People's Council for people to plant forests. Head of the Department Vuong Van Ninh said: In 2024, Ham Yen District plans to plant 2,585 hectares of new forests. Of which, 2,500 hectares will be concentrated forest planting and 85 hectares will be scattered forest planting. To facilitate and support people to plant forests, the Department has reviewed and guided households to register for support for seedlings according to Resolution 03 of the Provincial People's Council with an area of ​​1,010 hectares, accounting for over 40% of the district's total area. By the end of April, the district had newly planted 1,112 hectares of forest, of which seedlings were supported for people to plant 678 hectares in key forest communes such as Yen Lam, Minh Huong, Hung Duc, and Thanh Long.

Mr. Hoang Van Vinh, Ngoa village, Yen Lam commune (Ham Yen) was supported with 9.5 hectares of off-season acacia seedlings for planting in 2024. Mr. Vinh said that thanks to the support in plant varieties, his family saved half of the investment cost in planting forests and was assured of the quality of the seedlings.

According to the professional agency, the most effective time for forest planting is from March to July every year, this is the ideal time for people to plant forests. The Forestry Department is directing the Districts to concentrate their forces to provide nearly 4.5 million trees equivalent to planting 3,324 hectares of forest in 2024 for people to plant forests, ensuring forest planting in the best time frame and maintaining the province's forest cover at 65%.
