In recent years, from the province's specific policy on encouraging sustainable forestry development, Binh Lieu district has actively implemented it, focusing on scattered trees and native trees with high economic value.

Binh Lieu Forestry One Member Co., Ltd. is one of the units managing the largest forest area in the district with nearly 5,200 hectares. Implementing resolutions, plans for sustainable forestry development and specific policies to encourage sustainable forestry development, in 2021, the Company developed plans and quickly implemented the selection of suitable plants, conducted seedling nursery, and arranged forest planting sites. With an initial area of about 77 hectares, the Company has piloted planting of lim, giổi, and lát trees. Up to now, the area has increased to about 1,100 hectares, growing and developing well in accordance with the climate and soil in the area.

The area of giổi of Binh Lieu Forestry Company Limited after more than 3 years of planting is growing and developing well.

With the guidance of the Department of Science and Technology, in 2023, Binh Lieu Forestry One Member Co., Ltd. cooperated with the Institute of Regional Research and Development (Ministry of Science and Technology) to research and put into trial planting of grafted So trees to replace traditional So trees. With an area of about more than 4 hectares, the Company has planted about 7,000 trees. Compared to traditional So trees grown by seeds or cuttings, grafted So trees have many advantages when the growth and development time is fast, the time for the tree to harvest fruit early is shortened from 10 years to about 5 years with a 20-fold increase in yield, about 50kg to 2 quintals/tree.

In parallel with maintaining and stably exploiting the existing forest area, in 2025, Binh Lieu Forestry One Member Co., Ltd. plans to plant about 200 hectares of new trees, with about 300,000 trees, mainly acacia, pine, lim, giổi, and lat. Currently, the unit has planted about 25 hectares, the remaining area is expected to be completed in April 2025.

Mr. Le The Doan, Deputy Director of Binh Lieu Forestry One Member Co., Ltd., said: The unit has reviewed large areas of timber forests affected by the storm to plant additional trees to restore forest cover. For the 2025 forest planting plan, the unit has ensured the quantity of seedlings, continued to arrange human resources to clear the ground, dig holes to prepare the site to complete the set forest planting target; maintain and effectively implement the grafted tree planting model with the goal of expanding the area by about 3-4 hectares each year.

The model of grafted cassia trees of Binh Lieu Forestry One Member Co., Ltd. began to bear fruit after a short time of planting.

In order to effectively implement the goal of sustainable forestry development, through the conversion of small timber trees to large timber trees and indigenous trees with high economic value, Binh Lieu district has implemented a forest planting plan in 2025 with the goal of planting over 1,000 hectares, of which 40 hectares are protective forests and the rest are production forests. Up to now, the whole district has planted about 150 hectares, reaching 14.6% of the plan. Regarding the implementation of Resolution No. 37/2024/NQ-HDND, Binh Lieu district was assigned the target of planting about 200 hectares of large timber forests, the district has directed communes, units, individuals and organizations to plant 30 hectares.

Mr. La Ngoc Duong, Head of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Binh Lieu district, said: The district People's Committee has directed communes, towns, units, and organizations to plant forests, regularly propagate and mobilize people to actively implement in order to quickly restore areas damaged by storm No. 3 in 2024, stabilize production, contribute to greening bare land, bare hills, and increase forest cover. It is expected that around June 30, 2025, Binh Lieu district will complete the forest planting plan. For grafted trees, after evaluating the quality and economic efficiency compared to traditional trees, the district actively mobilizes people to plant and increase the existing area. For the plan to plant large timber forests according to Resolution No. 37/2024/NQ-HDND, people have registered to plant forests and currently the communes have registered about 20 hectares. In parallel with the plan to plant large timber forests, develop sustainable forestry to bring high economic efficiency, through the yield of forest products and processed products from forest products, Binh Lieu district continues to exploit the potential, promote the strength of experiential tourism associated with indigenous trees.
