Achieved many important targets
In the first 6 months of 2023, 12 provinces in the Southwest Cluster have achieved over 50% of the annual plan. The GRDP economic growth rate in the first 6 months of 2023 of the provinces in the cluster increased by an average of 5.65% (the same period in 2022 reached 5.15%). In particular, there are some provinces with high growth such as: Hau Giang 14.21%, Ca Mau 8.61%, An Giang 6.95%, Bac Lieu 6.93%.
Total budget revenue in the first 6 months of 2023 of the entire cluster is estimated at over 56,257 billion VND (the same period in 2022 reached 97,161 billion VND). Some provinces have achieved high budget revenue compared to the province's annual plan such as: Tra Vinh reached 73.99%, Soc Trang reached 60.87%, An Giang reached 59.64%, Bac Lieu reached 58.99%...
The cluster's export turnover is estimated at over 10.441 billion USD (the same period in 2022 reached over 11 billion USD). Some provinces with high export turnover include: Long An 3.354 billion USD, Tien Giang 1.85 billion USD, Soc Trang 720 million USD, Ben Tre 641.38 million USD.
Total budget revenue and export turnover were lower than the same period but both reached over 50% of the annual plan.
The provinces in the Southwest Region Cluster organized many remarkable cultural events, attracting the attention of the whole country such as: Ben Tre Province successfully organized a series of national activities to celebrate the 110th anniversary of the birth of Comrade Huynh Tan Phat. Hau Giang Province launched a movement to achieve achievements to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the province's founding (January 10, 2004 - January 10, 2024). Dong Thap Province with Tourism Week associated with the Sa Dec Spring Flower Festival, the first Lai Vung Pink Grapefruit Festival, the second Mango Festival... Ca Mau Province successfully organized the event program "Ca Mau - Destination 2023", the tourism promotion program with a plan to welcome the first flight in the event connecting the Hanoi - Ca Mau route of Tre Viet Aviation Joint Stock Company...
In particular, some provinces in the TD cluster had athletes who contributed to the Vietnamese Sports Delegation's high achievements at the 32nd Sea Games held in Cambodia.
Outstanding Competition Model
In the first 6 months of 2023, the provinces in the TD cluster summarized the TD work, gave rewards in 2022 and launched the TD movement for socio-economic development in 2023. Many outstanding activities, models and typical examples of the provinces in the TD cluster were recognized, contributing to further enlivening the strength of the great national unity bloc.
Ben Tre carries out the "New Dong Khoi" emulation movement to contribute to promoting the construction progress of Rach Mieu 2 bridge.
Hau Giang province continues its impressive growth momentum in 2022. Entering the first months of 2023, Hau Giang's economy continues to have many bright spots and comprehensive growth. Notably, the GRDP economic growth rate for the first time rose to the top of the country, reaching 14.21%. This is the highest growth rate since the province's establishment. The province's investment environment continues to improve. Provincial competitiveness indexes (PAPI, PAR INDEX, SIPAS, PCI) all increased from 5 to 26 places. In particular, the PCI index increased by 26 places, ranking 12th nationwide and 3rd in the Mekong Delta region. The province has established the Hau Giang Provincial Digital Technology Park and successfully organized the Digital Transformation and Innovation Startup Week - Mekong Delta 2023.
Ca Mau province has a 69-day and night peak campaign "Improving the efficiency of using online public services in Ca Mau province". The campaign starts from March 1, 2023 and ends on May 9, 2023, focusing on 3 goals: Increasing the rate of administrative procedure records resolved online. The rate of digitization of records, results of administrative procedure settlement and online payment rate. The results achieved after the campaign have contributed to significantly improving the results of administrative procedure reform in the province in the first 6 months of 2023. Thereby, the ranking position of the index of direction, operation and assessment of service quality for people and businesses in implementing administrative procedures in the electronic environment of Ca Mau province has been clearly improved, rising to the top of the country in the first 6 months of 2023 (ranked 21/63 provinces and cities in 2022).
Tra Vinh province has achieved and exceeded many socio-economic development targets. In the first 6 months of 2023, Tra Vinh had 2 more districts meeting new rural standards (NTM), bringing the total to 8/9 districts, towns and cities meeting the standards and completing the task of building NTM. 100% of communes met NTM standards, 38 communes met advanced NTM standards, and 3 model NTM communes.
Ben Tre province's economic growth rate in the first 6 months of 2023 reached 3.4%. Of which: Region I increased by 2.82%. Region II increased by 5.99%. Region III increased by 2.96% over the same period. Total state budget revenue in the province reached 3,339 billion VND, reaching 61.97% of the Central estimate and increasing by 1.13% over the same period. The province has just started construction of infrastructure for Phu Thuan Industrial Park, Binh Dai district. Phu Thuan Industrial Park was approved by the Prime Minister for investment policy, with a total investment of 2,126 billion VND. The project has a land use area of 231.78 hectares; it is one of the key projects, of great significance in promoting the growth and socio-economic development of the province. In addition, the launching of the "New Dong Khoi" high-point movement in propaganda and mobilization for site clearance to implement the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge Construction Investment Project and the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge Access Road Project (phase 2) has promoted the construction progress of Rach Mieu 2 Bridge. Currently, the total output value of the contracts under construction meets the set requirements.
The vibrant atmosphere in the provinces in the cluster has motivated all levels, sectors, people and the business community to strive together to exceed the socio-economic development targets set by the provinces in 2023.
| The quality of education in the provinces has been gradually improved. Some provinces have had an increase in the number of students winning national excellent student awards compared to the previous school year. The 2023 high school graduation exam was carefully prepared, seriously and safely implemented by the provinces in the emulation cluster. The high school graduation rate in the entire cluster reached 99.28%. In particular, some provinces have a high graduation rate such as: Bac Lieu reached 99.72%, Tien Giang reached 99.68%, Vinh Long reached 99.61%, Ben Tre reached 99.48%... |
