Russian people's trust in Putin reaches high level

Citing the latest survey results conducted by Russian organizations, the German-based bne IntelliNews website said that the percentage of Russian people who trust their President remains high and stable.

Specifically, Russian President Vladimir Putin is trusted by 81.5% of Russians and 78.4% of respondents approve of his leadership, according to a weekly survey released by the All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VTsIOM) on July 19.

The data reflects a steady level of confidence in Mr Putin. The figure was unchanged from the previous week. However, approval of his performance fell slightly by 0.6 percentage points.

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin was trusted by 61.8% of respondents, while 34.3% trusted the leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF), Gennady Zyuganov. The leader of the Just Russia Party, Sergei Mironov, was trusted by 28.7%.

The head of the right-wing Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR), Leonid Slutsky, has 20.1% of the vote. And Alexei Nechayev, leader of the New People's Party, has 8.4%.

The survey also reported approval ratings for political parties. United Russia had an approval rating of 38.6%, down 0.6 percentage points from the previous week.

The CPRF's approval rating rose slightly to 9.7%, while the LDPR's rating fell to 8.6%. The New People's Party had an approval rating of 5.9% and A Just Russia's rating was at 3.7%.

In another survey by the Public Opinion Foundation (FOM), 79% of respondents said they trusted Mr Putin and 81% rated his leadership as "fairly good".

In addition, 55% positively assessed the work of the Cabinet of Ministers, while 57% approved of the performance of Prime Minister Mishustin.

Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the Russian President, noted that the high level of support for Mr. Putin among the people is due to the President's "daily responsible work."

The Kremlin spokesman also mentioned that Putin's approval rating is reflected in the results of various polls, and that shows that the situation is generally stable.

In the Russian presidential election held from March 15-17, Mr. Putin won an overwhelming victory with 87.28% of the votes, with a record voter turnout of 77.49% - the highest in modern Russian history.
