Currently, there is a widespread false information about the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) lacking gold to sell. At many gold selling points, there are people who hire people to queue up to buy gold with the aim of pushing up prices, taking advantage of the difference, and causing market instability.
The State Bank of Vietnam said it is coordinating with the police to verify and strictly handle acts of speculation and market manipulation. Along with maintaining the supply of SJC gold bars to meet the legitimate and legal needs of the people, the State Bank of Vietnam will also proactively deploy solutions to strongly combat the phenomenon of speculation and hoarding.
The State Bank of Vietnam affirmed that it has enough resources and determination to stabilize the market and control the difference between domestic and world gold prices at an appropriate level. (See details)
Two foreigners helped Ms. Truong My Lan transport hundreds of thousands of billions across the border.
Regarding the Van Thinh Phat phase 2 case, there were two foreigners illegally transporting currency across the border, Chiu Bing Keung Kenneth and Chen Yi Chung.
According to the investigation, Chiu Bing Keung Kenneth (a citizen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland) was assigned by Ms. Truong My Lan to manage 11 companies in and outside the country. Chiu actively assisted Ms. Lan in illegally transporting currency across the border, with the total amount of money transferred by the 11 foreign companies being more than 1.4 billion USD, equivalent to more than 34,000 billion VND.
Another foreigner who illegally transported money across the border was Chen Yi Chung (Hong Kong - China nationality), acting General Director of SCB Bank. Chen actively assisted Ms. Lan in illegally transporting money across the border with a total amount of more than 708 million USD, equivalent to more than 16,000 billion VND. (See details)

State Bank proposes 3 ministries to coordinate in managing the gold market
The State Bank of Vietnam has just sent an official dispatch to three ministries: Finance, Public Security and Industry and Trade, requesting support in managing the foreign exchange and gold markets.
Accordingly, the SBV requested the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Industry and Trade to coordinate with the SBV and relevant authorities to strengthen market management. Minister of Finance: Collected 15.6 trillion VND in taxes from e-commerce platforms
On the afternoon of June 4, at the National Assembly's question-and-answer session on the group of issues of management, supervision, and protection of consumer rights in e-commerce activities, the two ministers of Industry and Trade and Finance informed about tax collection in the field of e-commerce on social networks.
The Minister of Finance informed that the revenue in 2022 was 83,000 billion VND, in 2023 it was 97,000 billion VND and in the first 5 months of the year it was 50,000 billion VND.
