World gold price today increased by tens of USD/ounce.
At around 6:00 a.m. on April 1, the world gold price was trading at 3,125 USD/ounce, up 40 USD compared to the previous day's opening price of 3,085 USD/ounce.
World gold prices have increased sharply as US President Donald Trump is expected to announce new tariffs on April 2, targeting Canada, China and the European Union (EU). Tariffs on imported cars are expected to be applied by the US from April 3, potentially pushing up car prices.
Previously, Mr. Donald Trump also threatened to impose secondary taxes of 25% - 50% on oil buyers from Russia.
With the above information, the financial market is concerned that the US President's tax plan could escalate the global trade war and increase the risk of economic recession.
Therefore, many investors increased their demand for holding gold to hedge against risks, causing the gold price today to continue to increase by tens of USD/ounce.
In Vietnam, on March 31, the selling price of SJC gold increased to nearly 102 million VND/tael, while the price of gold rings reached 101.2 million VND/tael.
