After the collision on the morning of March 1, the Railway industry mobilized equipment and hundreds of workers to work through the night to rescue the overturned train car and repair damaged infrastructure.

With the participation of three 100-ton cranes and hundreds of workers, the scene of the railway accident in Ha Tinh has been cleared. The locomotive, three train cars and the damaged truck have been removed and handed over to the police for investigation. At the same time, 70m of damaged track has also been replaced.

At around 9:00 a.m. on March 2, the North-South railway section through Duc Lien commune (mountainous district of Vu Quang, Ha Tinh province) was safely reopened with the efforts of hundreds of workers and laborers from railway units in the Central region.

To ensure safety, a freight train ran a test run on the newly repaired section of track. After passing the test, the two passenger trains SE19 and SE20 were ordered to continue their journey. The representative of the corporation said that the cost of fixing the problem was paid by the railway industry.

Previously, on the morning of March 1, the HH62 freight train pulling 20 cars running from South to North, when reaching the Hoa Duyet - Thanh Luyen section (Duc Lien commune), crashed into a truck carrying the trailer, which had stalled and was parked along the railway.

The collision pushed the truck away, the locomotive and three freight cars derailed and overturned towards the mountain. The truck driver jumped out before the collision, but the train driver suffered minor injuries and was taken for treatment.

The incident paralyzed the North-South railway line. More than 400 passengers on trains SE7 and SE8 passing through this area were transferred by the railway industry between Thanh Luyen station (Huong Khe district) and Yen Trung station (Duc Tho district) to continue their journey.
