Comrades: Nguyen Hung Vuong, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Tang Thi Duong, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee chaired the discussion.

Comrade Nguyen Hung Vuong spoke at the seminar.

Attending the seminar were leaders of a number of provincial departments, branches and sectors, leaders of provincial political and social organizations; delegates were artisans and prestigious people representing the Tay ethnic group in the province.

The Tay people have the second largest population in Tuyen Quang (after the Kinh people). This is also one of the ethnic groups with the longest history of residence in Tuyen Quang. The Tay people, together with other ethnic groups, have created many good traditions but still preserve the unique features of their ethnic culture.

Therefore, the Tay people have created for themselves unique cultural features that are reflected in their daily lives. The intangible cultural characteristics of the Tay people are Then singing, Coi singing, Van Quan Lang singing, Put singing, Lullabies and religious rituals such as: Organizing worship ceremonies, funerals, Long Tong festivals... Over many generations, the Tay people in Tuyen Quang have preserved, created and developed a diverse and rich spiritual culture.

The delegates are artisans and prestigious people representing the Tay ethnic group in the province at the seminar.

In particular, since the State issued regulations on weddings, funerals, holidays and festivals, the organization of weddings and funerals of the Tay people has been simpler, and the time for performing rituals has also been shortened. Along with the development of society, the Tay ethnic group has actively preserved and promoted traditional cultural values and gradually eliminated backward customs and practices in weddings and funerals in accordance with the actual situation.

However, customs and practices in some places are still cumbersome, and bad customs cause waste of time and money. There have been cases of food poisoning at some weddings and funerals, and gambling under disguise has caused disorder in security and social order. These negative impacts have affected the traditional cultural beauty of the nation and are no longer suitable for the current development trend.

Delegates discussed and shared valuable experiences, good practices, difficulties and obstacles in propaganda and mobilization work to implement civilized lifestyles in weddings and funerals.

At the same time, propose practical and effective solutions to eliminate inappropriate customs, rituals and practices, preserve and promote the nation's fine traditional cultural values in organizing weddings and funerals.

The Tay people's Suong dance was performed at the seminar.

The delegates agreed that the wedding should be simple and unobtrusive; the bride and groom should be encouraged to wear Tay ethnic costumes during the wedding; and the village folk songs with profound humanity should be restored...

Regarding funerals, delegates said that it is necessary to continue to reduce cumbersome and repetitive procedures. Do not build a garage or if you do, build only one floor, limit the construction of "dry funerals", do not use loudspeakers, do not organize lavish meals...

Concluding the discussion, comrade Nguyen Hung Vuong affirmed: Currently, the organization of weddings and funerals of the Tay ethnic group both inherits traditional customs and practices, has its own identity and is being increasingly civilized to suit the development of society.

However, in some places, there are still time-consuming and money-wasting customs. He suggested that it is necessary to continue reviewing and eliminating superstitious customs among ethnic minorities so that weddings and funerals can be civilized, in accordance with the law and the customs of each ethnic group.

Add specific contents on implementing civilized lifestyle in weddings and funerals to village and residential group conventions to implement and create consensus in society, meeting people's aspirations.

He noted that it is necessary to continue promoting the role and creating conditions for the team of spiritual practitioners and prestigious people to actively contribute to the cause of building the homeland and country and protecting the Fatherland, to propaganda work, mobilizing people, and building the great national unity bloc.
