Focus on completing the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the province.

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the province - Nguyen Van Quyet affirmed that the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses is a major policy with profound humanitarian significance.

Responding to the emulation movement " Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide in 2025", the province mobilized 9 billion VND from organizations and enterprises, including 5 billion VND from the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam and 4 billion VND from Long An Lottery Company Limited.

In addition, the province also used the 5% savings fund with a total amount of more than 48.6 billion VND to serve the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses.

To date, the province has completed the construction and repair of 107 temporary and dilapidated houses. Of these, 99 were newly built and 8 were repaired, with a total cost of over 8.2 billion VND.

Recently, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the province organized working groups to conduct field surveys in 9 districts, towns and cities. Through the review, the total number of poor and near-poor households, and those requesting to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses is 376 households (including 188 households with houses on residential land and 188 households with houses on agricultural land). Of which, there are 86 poor households (80 newly built, 6 repaired); 290 near-poor households (277 newly built, 13 repaired), with a total cost of more than 29.3 billion VND.

At the conference, delegates discussed difficulties and solutions to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the coming time.

For 188 households with houses on agricultural land, the Provincial People's Committee and related departments and branches are assigned to coordinate with localities to review and report to the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee to carry out construction, repair and conversion of land purposes according to regulations to complete according to the set plan./.
