Promoting national digital infrastructure, pioneering AI commercialization in Southeast Asia

VNG Digital Business (VNG DB), the youngest business segment at VNG, has made breakthroughs and grown strongly in 2024, especially in the fields of digital infrastructure, security and AI. This is also one of the key spearheads in implementing VNG's "Go Global" mission. By the end of Q3/2024, VNG Digital Business recorded a 58% increase in revenue over the same period. Of which, revenue from the global market increased by 14 times and accounted for 38% of total revenue.

In 2024, outstanding solutions and products of VNG DB such as: GreenNode, VNG Cloud, TrueID... have been significantly supporting the digital transformation processes of Vietnamese enterprises.

DB is currently providing a diverse and comprehensive ecosystem of solutions and products, supporting Vietnamese businesses in digital transformation in a comprehensive and effective manner.

Specifically, in May 2024, VNG Cloud officially deployed the first international standard multi-regional cloud computing infrastructure in Vietnam, meeting data protection regulations under Decree 53/2022/ND-CP and Decree 13/2023/ND-CP on personal data protection. VNG Cloud's data storage solutions have a dedicated bandwidth speed of up to 50Gbps, along with a service provision roadmap that meets standards equivalent to international cloud services. As a result, businesses using the solution will not be interrupted when accessing cloud services, ensuring continuity in business operations.

At the same time, hundreds of thousands of VNG Cloud servers are also providing services to more than 1,000 businesses, helping them optimize infrastructure, save costs and improve operational efficiency.

In the Security segment, TrueID biometric solution has become the first unit in Vietnam to pass the iBeta Level 2 test on anti-fake face by iBeta organization (NIST), with a recorded penetration rate of 0%.

With up to 99% accuracy and flexible customization capabilities according to the characteristics of each organization, trueID has become a trusted partner of more than 20 units in the banking and finance sector, helping them minimize risks, enhance security and simplify the online service registration process.

In addition, VNG DB's application security solution is also protecting assets and data for more than 100 million mobile devices in Vietnam.

Grasping the AI ​​trend, VNG DB is pioneering in supporting Vietnamese enterprises to apply AI. Veka.ai's AI Camera solution is currently deploying infrastructure for more than 80 domestic enterprises, with more than 20,000 cameras nationwide and a data storage system on cloud infrastructure up to 2200TB, operating stably with 100% SLA.

VNG DB's AI-based OCR solution has begun to be applied in a number of major banks in Vietnam. This solution helps banks save 20% of operating personnel costs, information and document processing.

With the available operational capacity in the market, VNG DB's team of engineers and experts also actively participates in sharing experiences in the development process of AI solutions and GPU Cloud infrastructure at technology forums and seminars, with the goal of accompanying the Government to improve the national AI infrastructure capacity.

Global vision

VNG DB's "Go Global" journey has accelerated strongly over the past year, as they pioneered increased investment in AI Cloud Infrastructure, as well as continuously and successfully expanded the market in the US, Middle East - North Africa and Asia - Pacific.

Also in the past year, VNG DB continuously reached important cooperation agreements with prestigious global technology partners such as NVIDIA, ST Telemedia Global Data Centres, VAST Data...

Specifically, in May 2024, VNG announced a joint venture with the world's leading data center developer ST Telemedia Global Data Centers (STT GDC) to build, develop and operate world-class data centers in Ho Chi Minh City.

Notably, in June 2024, GreenNode - the AI ​​Cloud business unit of VNG DB, and also a Preferred Cloud Partner of NVIDIA, successfully deployed an AI Cloud data center in Bangkok (Thailand). This is one of the first large-scale AI Cloud data centers in Southeast Asia, deployed in less than 6 months and has brought in tens of millions of USD in revenue in the first months of operation. The success of this project is the clearest proof of the AI ​​deployment and commercialization capacity of the Vietnamese technology engineering team, when we fully meet the strict requirements of demanding markets such as the US, Europe, and the Middle East.

Following the success of its Bangkok AI Cloud Data Center, GreenNode continues to launch innovative AI business models for enterprises across the region. GreenNode’s solutions, from infrastructure to platform, have helped small businesses save significantly on the cost of training and deploying Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI applications.

With an advanced infrastructure platform, GreenNode's AI Lab team is currently focusing on researching and developing AI applications to support "Creating new products and services" and "Personalizing customer experiences" for businesses.

At the same time, VNG DB is nurturing a project to integrate the VKS platform into AI task processing servers outside Vietnam's borders, helping to improve the capacity to develop and deploy AI applications of enterprises on a large scale.

Thanks to the spirit of persistently accompanying Enterprises and the Government in the Digital Transformation process, along with breakthrough efforts in building Digital Infrastructure, VNG DB has won many prestigious awards in the past year. These awards are not only the pride of VNG DB in general but also a testament to the competitiveness of Vietnamese technology enterprises in the international market.
