In the first quarter of 2025, under the leadership of the Party Committee, the government, cadres, party members and people of Thuan Nam district have made efforts to overcome difficulties and achieved the set goals in many areas. Notably, the state budget revenue reached more than 34.8 billion VND, reaching 42% of the provincial estimate and 41% of the district estimate, exceeding 75% over the same period.
The whole district focuses on taking care of 1,600 hectares of rice and 450 hectares of winter-spring crops in 2024-2025. Of which, converting crops on rice land reaches 20.9 hectares; continuing to maintain the large-scale field production model in 3 communes: Phuoc Ninh, Phuoc Nam and Nhi Ha, with a total area of 623.5 hectares/1,121 households.
The seafood exploitation sector achieved quite well, with a total output estimated at 16,781 tons, reaching 21% of the plan, up 1.18% over the same period. The aquaculture output was estimated at 1,269 tons, reaching 26.54% of the plan, up 36.15% over the same period. The district continued to maintain, consolidate and develop solidarity fishing teams; coordinate propaganda to prevent and combat illegal fishing and review and count unregistered fishing vessels.
In land management, in the first quarter of 2025, the district issued 47 land use right certificates with 41.3 hectares/54 plots to households and individuals; allowed the conversion of land use purpose from agricultural land to rural residential land for 100 cases and production and business land for 17 cases. Implementing the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, Thuan Nam district approved a list of 294 poor and near-poor households to benefit, with a total cost of over VND9.7 billion. As of April 8, Thuan Nam district has started construction of 141 houses, including 68 new houses and 73 repaired houses.
At the meeting to deploy tasks for the second quarter, comrade Truong Xuan Vy, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thuan Nam district requested: District officials and civil servants to uphold their sense of responsibility, focus on professional work, make the highest efforts, and not let work be left behind. Agencies, units, and localities must promote a proactive spirit, speed up efforts to complete assigned tasks, focus on handling important and urgent tasks to remove difficulties, promote production and business development, strive for socio-economic targets for the second quarter of 2025 to reach 70% or more; complete the approval of adjustments to the Thuan Nam District Regional Planning and related planning. Units and localities coordinate to strengthen the management of budget revenue and expenditure; do a good job of public asset management; prioritize the settlement and finalization of completed projects to ensure the progress of disbursement of public investment capital and capital sources for national target programs.
