Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has just requested the Ministry of Science and Technology to promote 5G commercialization, research 6G technology and develop telecommunications satellites.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has just signed Directive No. 05/CT-TTg dated March 1, 2025 on key tasks and solutions to promote economic growth and accelerate disbursement of public investment capital, ensuring the national growth target of 8% or more in 2025.
The Directive clearly states that the growth target of 8% or more in 2025 is a difficult and challenging task, but we must be determined to complete it to create momentum, create strength, and create a position for double-digit growth in the following years, with the spirit: "The Party has directed, the Government has agreed, the National Assembly has agreed, the People have supported, the Fatherland has expected, then we only discuss doing, not retreating".
One of the Government's viewpoints and directives is that economic growth must rely on science and technology, innovation and digital transformation, high-quality human resources, and increased labor productivity. The goal is to move towards sustainable, inclusive, and comprehensive growth that benefits the people.
To do that, one of the key and breakthrough tasks and solutions is to strongly promote new growth drivers, breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation, digital transformation, and high-quality human resources.
The Directive requires ministries, agencies and localities to promote national digital transformation in a deep and comprehensive manner in all sectors and fields, creating new momentum for economic growth based on science, technology, data, digital technology and innovation; widespread digital economy, ensuring network security and safety.
In particular, the Ministry of Science and Technology is assigned to promote the commercialization of 5G; research 6G technology; develop telecommunications satellites and upgrade national telecommunications backbone infrastructure. Promote investment and development of high-speed fixed broadband infrastructure.
The Ministry of Science and Technology is also assigned to urgently review, advise and report to the Prime Minister on the issuance of new strategies and effective implementation of issued strategies on research, application and exploitation of marine space, underground space and outer space.
In addition, the Ministry of Science and Technology must coordinate to create conditions for enterprises operating in the agricultural sector to access capital sources, apply high technology to production and processing of agricultural products to improve productivity, enhance product quality and value, create favorable conditions to expand markets and promote exports.
