Opening of the 4th Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in 2025

On the morning of April 12, at the Dien Bien Phu Victory Monument Ceremony Ground, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (DOCST) held the opening ceremony of the 4th Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in 2025 with the theme "Entering the era of national growth with books". Attending the program were Mr. Vu A Bang - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Nguyen Minh Phu - Director of the DOCSTST; leaders of provincial departments, branches, sectors, and organizations and a large number of readers, students.

Dien Bien Province Book and Reading Culture Day 2025 is jointly organized by the Provincial Library, the Provincial Cultural - Cinema Center, and Vietnam Digital Book and Reading Service Company Limited. The organizers bring to readers over 5,000 books with a variety of topics on culture, history, and many books on life skills, technology, innovation, startups, green economy, etc. The exhibition space includes artistic book stacking models, carefully and creatively prepared, reflecting topics related to the task of promoting and developing a reading culture in the community.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Minh Phu said, “In recent times, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has actively developed reading culture in the community through practical actions. Specifically: Advising the Provincial People's Committee to issue many programs and plans to develop libraries and reading culture in the province; promoting and introducing books at public library systems; organizing many mobile library campaigns to units, schools, districts and communes in mountainous, border areas, ethnic minority areas, and areas with difficult economic conditions; organizing reading promotion activities, Book Festival, Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day, Reading Culture Ambassador contest, etc. Thereby, it has created a strong influence and change in the movement, habits and reading skills of the people; developing reading culture in the community, improving people's knowledge, developing thinking, nurturing personality and soul; contributing to raising awareness of law compliance, forming a healthy lifestyle, towards the goal of building and comprehensive development. Vietnamese people".

The 4th Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day Program in 2025 is organized with many activities such as: Exhibition, introduction of books, newspapers, magazines; display of artistic book arrangement; organization of booths to introduce books and cultural products; propaganda, encouragement of socialization of library activities, promotion of the effectiveness and improvement of service quality of the Public Library system; launching a reading movement; launching a movement to support and receive book sources to support the construction of libraries, basic bookcases of units, etc. Along with that, within the framework of the program, the Provincial Library also organizes on-site reading services, free internet access using multimedia library car devices, and free library card issuance...

Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in Dien Bien is held annually to promote the development of reading and lifelong learning movements in the community, building a healthy, practical and useful reading culture space for all readers. At the same time, raise awareness among people, especially the youth and children, to better understand the value of reading in educating human qualities and personality. Thereby showing the great significance and importance of books in developing thinking, life skills, educating and training human personality. At the same time, gradually socialize library activities, improve the service quality of the library system in the province.

The 4th Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2025 program will take place at the Dien Bien Phu Victory Monument Ceremony Ground from April 12 to 20 to serve readers who come to visit and read.
