Improving people's lives from agricultural production linkage models

Over the past years, with the active support from local authorities, Quang Ninh's agricultural sector has made steady progress. In particular, production linkage models not only create sustainable value chains, expand consumption markets, improve product quality, but also help improve farmers' income.

In Mong Cai City, An Loc Organic Agriculture Cooperative has been successful with the Mong Cai clean pig farming model. Established in 2016, the Cooperative has built a closed farming process, ensuring clean breeds and organic feed. Thanks to that, Mong Cai pig products are not only of high quality, but also favored by the market. The price of pork from the Cooperative is often nearly twice as high as that of conventionally raised pigs, bringing stable income to member households. On average, each Cooperative member has an income of 200-250 million VND/year from raising clean pigs.

Currently, the cooperative has 7 members, supplying more than 1,000 pigs for meat and breeding each year. The special feature of the model is the combined farming method, helping animals develop naturally, giving delicious meat quality. In addition, the cooperative proactively produces food from natural ingredients such as vegetables, corn, bananas and rice bran, contributing to reducing costs and increasing product value.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Loan, Director of An Loc Organic Agriculture Cooperative, shared: Not only focusing on product quality, the Cooperative also cares about environmental protection when investing in a waste treatment system using biogas tanks, utilizing organic fertilizers to fertilize plants. Thanks to safe farming methods, the Cooperative's products have achieved food safety and hygiene certification, opening up opportunities for widespread consumption in and outside the province.

In Hai Ha district, Quy Hoa Trading Service and Import Export Company Limited has successfully developed a model of growing and processing yellow tea flowers. With more than 10,000 yellow tea flowers grown according to organic standards, the company's products have achieved 5-star OCOP certification and are exported to international markets. Annual revenue is up to tens of billions of VND. Not only focusing on production, Quy Hoa Company also expands its links with dozens of households, providing guidance on planting and harvesting techniques according to strict processes. This helps expand the raw material area, create more jobs and ensure stable income for many local farmers.

Mr. Le Manh Quy, Director of Quy Hoa Trading Service and Import-Export Company Limited, said: To improve product quality, the company has invested in a modern processing system with freeze-drying technology, helping to preserve the medicinal properties and characteristic flavor of golden flower tea. Thanks to that, the product is not only consumed strongly in the domestic market, but also exported to Japan, Korea and Europe.

In recent years, Quang Ninh province has focused on developing agriculture according to value chains, encouraging farmers to join cooperatives, cooperative groups and link with businesses to consume products. Currently, the province has more than 710 agricultural cooperatives, of which 43 production chains have been formed, helping thousands of farming households have a stable source of income. Many cooperatives and businesses have also actively participated in the OCOP program, enhancing brand value and expanding the market. Currently, the province has more than 300 OCOP products with 3 to 5 stars, many of which have reached the international market.

Agricultural production linkage models in Quang Ninh have contributed to improving people's lives and increasing the value of agricultural production. Cooperation between farmers, cooperatives and enterprises not only helps ensure stable output but also expands market opportunities. Although there are still some challenges in the development process, with the right orientation and support from authorities at all levels, the production linkage model continues to be an important solution for sustainable agricultural development, increasing people's income and promoting the local economy.
