Budget revenue reached nearly 70% of estimate

On August 5, the Ministry of Finance announced the budget collection situation in July 2024 and the first 7 months of the year.

Specifically, the total state budget revenue in July 2024 managed by the Tax authority is estimated at VND 138,500 billion, reaching 9.3% of the estimate, equal to 101.3% over the same period in 2023.

Of which, revenue from crude oil is estimated at VND 4,800 billion, equal to 10.4% of the estimate, equal to 115% over the same period in 2023; domestic revenue is estimated at VND 133,700 billion, equal to 9.3% of the estimate, equal to 100.9% over the same period in 2023.

Accumulated in the first 7 months of 2024, the total state budget revenue managed by tax authorities is estimated at nearly 1.02 million billion VND, equal to 68.6% of the estimate, equal to 114.9% over the same period.

Personal income tax revenue reached 72.1% of the estimate, up 15.1% over the same period.

Of which, revenue from crude oil is estimated at VND34,377 billion, equal to 74.7% of the estimate, equal to 97.3% over the same period; Domestic revenue is estimated at VND985,325 billion, equal to 68.4% of the estimate, equal to 115.7% over the same period. Domestic tax and fee revenue is estimated at VND762,442 billion, equal to 70.3% of the estimate, equal to 111.2% over the same period.

There are 14/20 revenue items and taxes that have achieved good results, including some large revenue items such as: Revenue from foreign-invested enterprises; Revenue from non-state economic sectors; Personal income tax; Fees - charges; Land and water surface rental fees; Revenue from lottery activities.

Notably, personal income tax revenue reached 72.1% of the estimate, up 15.1% over the same period, mainly due to increased personal income tax revenue from real estate transfers (up about 65%) and personal income tax from securities transfers (up about 32.6%).

In addition to personal income tax revenue, the General Department of Taxation (Ministry of Finance) also has information about delayed personal income tax refunds.

The General Department of Taxation said that some cases of delayed tax refund settlement are due to taxpayers submitting incorrect tax finalization to the tax authority; under-declaring taxable income; incorrectly declaring the time for deduction of dependents or declaring dependents who are not eligible for deduction; under-declaring deductible compulsory insurances; under-declaring deductible compulsory insurances; incorrectly declaring the amount of personal income tax deducted or temporarily paid during the year compared to data compiled by the tax authority or providing insufficient documents for tax deduction and payment of personal income tax...

In the coming time, the General Department of Taxation will continue to direct tax agencies to actively implement propaganda and support programs and plans in many forms to support and answer questions for taxpayers to grasp policies and make settlements in accordance with regulations.
