DTO - In recent times, the Provincial Veterans Entrepreneurs Association has gathered Veterans Entrepreneurs and Military Veterans in the area to unite, support and help each other in career development, improve production and business efficiency, as well as protect the legitimate rights of members. Thereby, promoting the role of a professional organization and attracting Veterans Entrepreneurs to participate.
Long An Province Veterans Business Association came to exchange and share operational experiences with the Provincial Veterans Business Association in 2024.
Immediately after the 1st Congress of the Provincial Association of Veteran Entrepreneurs for the 2019-2024 term, the Executive Committee of the Provincial Association of Veteran Entrepreneurs focused on leading and directing the synchronous implementation of solutions, especially promptly consolidating, perfecting and expanding the organization in the Branches in accordance with the orientation of increasingly improved standards and quality. At the same time, the Provincial Association of Veterans issued Resolution No. 94 dated December 15, 2023 assigning annual emulation targets to the District and City Association of Veteran Entrepreneurs to coordinate with the District and City Associations of Veteran Entrepreneurs to admit 3 or more Veteran Entrepreneurs. As a result of the past term, the whole province admitted 60 members, bringing the total number to 157 members of the Provincial Association of Veteran Entrepreneurs.
The provincial Association of Veteran Entrepreneurs currently has 120 small and medium-sized enterprises, 3 large enterprises, the remaining cooperatives, cooperative groups, and farms with a total revenue of hundreds of millions of VND each year. Business entities support each other in all areas of production and business, introduce and consume products, goods and services, and create jobs for more than 2,000 workers. Of which, 347 veterans or their children and grandchildren participate with an average income of 5 - 7 million VND/person/month, contributing to improving life and sustainable poverty reduction in the locality. The provincial Association of Veteran Entrepreneurs coordinates with departments, branches, the Association of Women Entrepreneurs, the Association of Young Entrepreneurs, and the Association of Veteran Entrepreneurs in and outside the province to organize exchanges, learn experiences, and promote product brands. Thereby, 120 enterprises participate in introducing over 250 products, displaying, and connecting to consume products in the production and business process in the new situation.
As the Head of the Sa Dec City Veterans Entrepreneurs Association, veteran Vo Thanh Bong (residing in Tan Phu Dong commune, Sa Dec city) actively participates in movements and models such as: "War veterans help each other to do business, improve living standards, reduce poverty, and get rich legally", "Tet Quan - Dan". At the same time, he regularly propagates and mobilizes members of the Veterans Entrepreneurs Association to respond to projects and tasks launched by the Sa Dec City Veterans Entrepreneurs Association and the locality, bringing many practical results. In the period of 2019 - 2024, the Sa Dec City Veterans Entrepreneurs Association mobilized to give gifts to poor and disadvantaged members of the Veterans Association with a total amount of over 250 million VND; coordinated to support funding for the construction of 3 rural bridges in the communes of Tan Quy Tay, Tan Khanh Dong, and Tan Phu Dong (Sa Dec city), contributing to creating favorable conditions for people and motor vehicles to participate in traffic.
The highlight of the 2019 - 2024 term is that the Provincial Association of Veteran Entrepreneurs in coordination with the Provincial Association of Veterans leads the grassroots Association to actively participate in effectively implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Development associated with the Project on restructuring the agricultural sector and sustainable poverty reduction in the province. As a result, the Provincial Association of Veteran Entrepreneurs and the Provincial Association of Veterans in coordination with units built and repaired nearly 600 houses for poor members facing housing difficulties; introduced jobs to tens of thousands of workers, including 1,289 children of War Veterans members who participated in temporary work abroad under contracts, with stable income and improved living conditions. If in 2019 the whole province had 228 poor War Veterans households, by 2024 there were only 34 poor households (a decrease of 194 households); 6/12 War Veterans Associations at district and city levels no longer had poor households.
In general, the Provincial Association of Veteran Entrepreneurs strictly complies with the leadership and direction of the Party committees, authorities and the Provincial Association of Veterans. In particular, it maintains internal solidarity, implements democracy in activities associated with the assignment of specific tasks to promote the capacity and strengths of each individual. The activities of the Provincial Association of Veteran Entrepreneurs originate from the aspirations and legitimate interests of members, taking care of the material and spiritual life of members, especially members facing difficulties in life, as well as actively protecting the rights and legitimate interests of Veterans in the Red Lotus area.
