The Deputy Commander of the Air Defense - Air Force said that the entire force is trained in independent and coordinated operations, ready to respond to high-tech weapons.

Speaking to VnExpress on the sidelines of a bombing and live-fire drill at the Nhu Xuan shooting range (Thanh Hoa), Major General Vu Hong Son, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Air Defense - Air Force, said high-tech weapons are being widely used in modern warfare to quickly control the battle and destroy targets.

Therefore, the training of air defense and air force combat methods must be in conditions of independent combat, combined combat, and joint combat, on land and at sea and on islands. The service also focuses on researching and grasping the nature of plots and tricks of air attacks using high-tech weapons; correctly assessing the balance of forces, determining appropriate combat methods, and proactively building combat positions.

From there, the art of warfare was researched, developed, and a multi-layered people's air defense posture was built; creating a unified, interconnected air defense and air force system to be able to attack the enemy from many directions and many heights.

According to the Deputy Commander of the Air Defense - Air Force, one of the core tasks of the Air Force is to build forces and methods to deal with electronic warfare. This is a method of warfare that simultaneously conducts reconnaissance, electronic suppression and air defense suppression to gain and maintain control of the sky.

This method will disable the enemy's radar system, disrupt the command and navigation information system, and create conditions for their air force to carry out its mission. "In recent armed conflicts around the world, the air forces of the attacked countries cannot take off to fight back and also face many difficulties in dealing with electronic warfare," said Major General Son.

Therefore, the Air Defense - Air Force has trained to improve self-navigation ability and flying skills and techniques. Officers and soldiers are proficient in exploiting existing aircraft and technical weapons; training in combat application and flying in complex conditions.

Pilots must study and master the enemy's high-tech air attack techniques; correctly assess the balance of power, determine appropriate fighting methods, and take the initiative in combat.

"Not only electronic warfare, dealing with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) is also a challenge for air forces around the world," said General Son, adding that this is a dangerous weapon, capable of destroying and causing heavy damage to important targets.

To suppress, the Air Defense - Air Force has grasped the trend, organized its forces; built scenarios to handle situations where UAVs intrude into the military's military bases, airports, and warehouses. Along with that, the military researched and understood the structure, operating principles, and characteristics of each type of UAV.

In recent times, the Air Defense - Air Force has invested in improving the quality of its academy and school systems; selecting pilots, command staff, engineers and technical staff to study, train and transfer abroad. This will be the high-quality human resource of the Service, capable of mastering all types of new and modern equipment that have been equipped.

From July 16 to 20, the Air Defense - Air Force organized a navigation competition and a bombing and live-fire drill at the Nhu Xuan Shooting Range (Thanh Hoa). The tests aimed to assess the level of the crew and the navigation radar station; the ability to detect and intercept targets visually and with the pilot's equipment; and the ability to calculate and maintain long-distance flight data of the helicopter crew.

This is the highest form of training to improve the command, coordination and flight control capacity of regimental officers of the entire service. This is also an opportunity to evaluate the quality of weapons and equipment, technical assurance, combat capabilities and combat operations of each officer and pilot, especially in night conditions and complex situations. From there, the Service will draw lessons and organize training for forces close to reality and the development direction of modern warfare.
