Earlier, on the afternoon of June 9, many traders at Hoa Khanh Market, Hoa My Market, Hoa An Market, etc. were worried that the rainy weather would cause a sharp decrease in the number of visitors. However, many people still took advantage of the weekend to go to the market to shop and prepare for the Doan Ngo Festival.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Linh, a vegetable vendor at Hoa Khanh Nam market, said that this year's Doan Ngo Festival (the 5th day of the 5th lunar month) falls on a Monday, so many people take advantage of Sunday to shop to have more time to prepare offerings and avoid the crowds on the 5th day of the 5th. Compared to normal days, the number of customers coming to her stall has increased by more than 50%, and sales have doubled.

Ms. Le Huyen Anh (Hoa Phat ward, Cam Le district) said that in general, the prices of food items for the Doan Ngo festival have increased, not to the point of being "too shocking" but enough for her to consider how much and what type of products to buy.

“Normally every year I buy a lot of ash cakes, chrysanthemums, and fruits for myself and my parents to offer on the Doan Ngo Festival. However, due to the sharp increase in the prices of these items, I only buy half the amount compared to previous years to save money but still ensure a full offering tray,” Ms. Anh added.

Currently, traders at the markets have prepared goods many days in advance, helping customers easily choose satisfactory products at transparent prices.

Ms. Le Thi Thanh, a fruit vendor at Con Market, said that about 1-2 weeks ago, she calculated and counted the quantity of fruit, and asked the fruit supplier to add more quantity and types of fruit to serve people during the Doan Ngo Festival. The fruits she imported such as mangosteen, plum, lychee, tangerine, etc. are very popular with customers.

In addition, the service of making ready-made offerings, each offering tray costs from a few hundred to millions of dong, is still of interest to many people. Most of the establishments providing offering tray ordering services are speeding up to "deliver orders" to customers in time for the Doan Ngo Festival.

Mr. Ngo Duy An, the owner of a service provider of trays and offerings, shared that a few days ago, the number of customers ordering trays of offerings increased, with many picky customers ordering trays worth up to millions of dong. Compared to previous years, the number of people ordering trays of offerings has decreased as many families have prepared their own trays of offerings a day before. However, this is still a "hot" service during the Doan Ngo Festival in recent years.

This year, there is no shortage or out-of-stock of goods as market management boards have mobilized traders to prepare and calculate the amount of goods needed to serve people's needs.

Mr. Diep Hoang Thong Anh, Head of Hoa Cuong Wholesale Market Management Board, informed that the amount of fruits imported to the market during the Doan Ngo Festival increased 2-3 times (about 150-200 tons) compared to normal days.

This is thanks to the efforts of the management board in communicating to each business household and small trader to prepare plans to meet the demand for goods in the upcoming holidays and events.

In addition, the management board also coordinates with competent agencies to propagate, inspect, and control the quality of goods, food safety, and origin of goods entering and leaving the market to ensure consumer rights.
