More Southern Universities Announce Floor Scores

TPO – On July 20, many schools in the Southern region such as: Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics; Ton Duc Thang University; Nguyen Tat Thanh University and Hoa Sen University... announced the minimum scores for the admission method based on the results of the 2024 high school graduation exam.

At Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, there are 2 floor scores at the school's 2 training facilities.

For training programs in Ho Chi Minh City (school code KSA), the common minimum score is 20 points.

For training programs at Vinh Long Branch, the final year of rotation at HCMC Campus (school code KSV), the floor score is 16 points.

The threshold to ensure input quality is the score for candidates in region 3, without coefficient multiplication. The admission combinations include 3 subjects/exams corresponding to each training program and subjects/exams on a 10-point scale.

Meanwhile, Ton Duc Thang University uses a 40-point scale for admission. The minimum score for admission based on high school graduation exam scores ranges from 21 to 30.5 points.

The minimum admission score (40-point scale) is the total score of 3 subjects according to the combination (multiplied by the subject coefficient according to the combination and the admission major), plus the priority score for the subject/region (if any), rounded to 2 decimal places. Candidates who graduated from high school in 2022 or earlier are not eligible for regional priority policies.

How to calculate priority points of Ton Duc Thang University

Candidates graduating from high school in 2022 or earlier will not enjoy regional priority policies.

Priority points for candidates with a total score of 30.0 (on a scale of 40) or higher are determined by the formula: Priority points (on a scale of 40) = [(40 - Total score achieved)/10] x Priority points for region and subject.

For example: Candidates with high school graduation exam results in 2024:

· Math: 7.00 points; Literature: 7.00 points; English: 8.50 points

· Candidates in region 1: 1.00 point.

Admission to English Language major according to combination D01 (Math, Literature, English) in which the subject with coefficient 2 is English.

Thus, the admission score of candidates according to the D01 group of English Language majors is calculated as follows:

Admission score = Math score + Literature score + English score *2 + Priority score

= 7.00 + 7.00 + 8.50*2 + 0.90 = 31.90 points

In which: Priority points = [(40.00 – 31.00)/10.00]*1.00 = 0.90 points.

At Nguyen Tat Thanh University, the minimum score for majors in the fields of Administration - Law - Economics; Engineering - Technology; Fine Arts - Arts and Social Sciences - Humanities is 15 points. The minimum score for majors in the Health sector is: Medicine (23 points); Dentistry (22.5 points); Traditional Medicine (21 points); Pharmacy (21 points); Preventive Medicine, Nursing, Medical Laboratory Technology, Rehabilitation Technology (19 points).

For majors with admission combinations including Drawing Aptitude (Architecture, Interior Design, Graphic Design, Piano, Vocal Music, Drama, Film-Television); candidates can take the Aptitude exam organized by Nguyen Tat Thanh University or take the Aptitude exam results from another university to combine admission according to the prescribed subject combination.

Hoa Sen University Admissions Council announces the admission scores based on high school graduation exam results in 2024 and the school's own admission methods for regular university admissions in 2024.
