16 more martyrs who died in Laos have returned to their homeland

On May 19, Thua Thien - Hue province solemnly held a memorial service and buried the remains of 16 heroic martyrs of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died on the battlefield in Laos.

Attending the ceremony were Colonel Tran Quang Thanh, Deputy Director of the Policy Department - General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, Deputy Chief of Office of National Steering Committee 515, Deputy Commander of Military Region 4; leaders of Thua Thien - Hue Provincial Party Committee...

Delegates held a memorial service and buried the martyrs.

These 16 martyrs' remains were searched for and recovered by Team 192, Thua Thien - Hue Provincial Military Command in coordination with all levels, sectors, units and localities of Vietnam - Laos in the dry season of 2022 - 2023, and now brought back to the country for burial at Hue City Martyrs' Cemetery.

Reading the eulogy at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien - Hue province, emphasized that searching for and gathering the remains of martyrs who died in Laos is a sacred and meaningful work, a noble gesture of the current generation towards the deceased.

This is an important and urgent task; both sentimental and responsible to repay the great merit of the martyrs who heroically sacrificed for the revolutionary cause of the two peoples of Vietnam and Laos, demonstrating responsibility towards the relatives and comrades of the martyrs.

Military forces bring martyrs back to their homeland

On behalf of the Party Committee, government and people of Thua Thien - Hue province, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh promised before the souls of the martyrs: "We vow to unite as one, to do our best, to use all our spirit, willpower and intelligence; together with the entire Party, the entire army and the entire people to successfully carry out the task of building and defending the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to make the people rich, the country strong, democratic, fair and civilized as wished by the great President Ho Chi Minh".
