Accordingly, the number of cattle with FMD symptoms is 15/30 cattle in the total herd of 5 households. All households with sick cattle live close to each other and graze in the same pasture. People discovered sick cattle on September 9 and used lemon and star fruit to treat them. Initially, the disease was determined to be spontaneous on the spot (the sick cattle were not vaccinated in the spring of 2024).
Currently, the total herd of buffalo and cows in Phan Xa Phuong village is 270. The risk of disease outbreak is very high due to free-range farming and lack of FMD vaccination in the spring crop of 2024.
Faced with the complicated developments of FMD, the Cam Lo District Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Station and local authorities have notified the people; strictly prohibiting the purchase, transportation, and slaughter of cattle in the epidemic area. Instructing breeders to isolate and treat sick animals, provide disinfectants, treat symptoms, and commit to implementing disease prevention and control measures.
Organize environmental disinfection of epidemic areas and livestock households according to regulations. At the same time, send technical staff to directly inspect, monitor, and guide treatment and disease prevention measures in epidemic villages. Organize emergency vaccination against FMD in epidemic areas and high-risk areas...
